Gregg Kishline and Lance Turner [son of Harry] restore many 1/4 midgets in Lance's shop in Kenosha Wisconsin. They also handle full midgets. I'll see that they get a look at these photos. If it is a 1/4 midget they'll have the info and quite possibly parts to restore it. They have molds for some of the more popular bodies.

I'll also see if they'll let me post photos of the fabulous 1/2 scale champ cars they have built. It is neat to know the cross shaft gearbox from my old snowblower is enjoying a warm retirement as rec room art in Australia!

I think Gus Linder was the first driver of the RZ car and hit a lite pole at the USAC opener at Reading, 1967 maybe? Herman drove it for several years along with Ralphie.

Gus was here at my shop today and told me the story of the night at Reading that we lost Red Reigel and Jud Larson in the same crash. He said he was pitted between them, and one minute, they were all standing aroung talking and joking, and 5 minutes later, they were both gone. he says it it still hard to believe,as is the loss of his brother,Dick Linder. He has told me many stories of his years in competition. Can somebody explain this? Did Wergland sell this car to Ben Leyba in 1975, or why does it show up twice in '75 owners points? Trouble is, I have both Leyba's #4 and Wergland's #36 showing up in several races together!

I actually remember that, because it happened directly in front of me. I had photos, but I think they got tossed many years ago.:( If I remember correctly, he spun, bounced off an inside pole, did a 360 and kept going. It didn't help his lap time.
