I'll be there this weekend. I've mentioned all the options in the initial post to her already. She's a close friend as well, we agreed that she'd not do anything with it until both of us had discussed it.

I obviously want it but its one of those things I need her to be sure about. I have no idea what she may think its worth in its current state. I really wish that Bradd and I had worked it out, but I don't think til the very end he really believed he wasn't going to make it. And I wanted to keep every visit positive as possible.

The car is just a small piece of our history most of its locked up in my head . . . and there's some great memories and really funny stuff as well.

The memorial party is shaping up with lots of the cast of characters, some not seen in twenty years.

I agree with the "build it" suggestions. Do it as a tribute to your friend and ether buy it from the widow or give her the money from the sale. She might give you a great deal on the car or even let you have it. If you wind up with the car every time you drive it you will be reminded of your friend. Hope every thing works out the way you want. Oh by the way, I would do it as quietly as possible to avoid any legal issues with the other wife. I had a friend that had a real nasty divorce, they hated each other, but when he died his ex came out of the woodwork after 10 years to try to claim some money from his estate.
