The owner of the wheels... that would be ol' Stanley. In the container, behind the wheels, sits one of the nicest stock '23 T's that you will ever see. He sold me a fairly decent '28/'29 A gastank for five bucks.

My piano playin' buddy, Ken, also works at Allred as a nurse. He has air; The inmates don't. That boy can play some boogie woogie!

There still is loads of old car stuff on the Archer City highway and on Jacksborro highway too. I know this guy on Jacksborro highway, that has what looks like a motorcycle dealers showroom, full of vintage unrestored bikes, from 1965, untouched since then. It's like one of those sci-fi shows, where everybody died, and all of the infrastructure and artifacts remained, and just grew hoary with age. Disturbing. Here's another shot of the local junk.

This one was sitting at the local gas station awaiting repairs.

The next to the last pair of pics. Want to build your own "Kenford"? (The truck that Kenny Howard built.) This place has all of the truck junk that you could ever want!

NM is a lot like Texas as far as the kind of stuff you're showing. Problem is, the locals who own it will almost never sell to a "townie". And a lot of those look like drivers to me -- the F-1, surely the Caddies. People in the styx get cable and internet, they know what they're worth!

I don't think that the F1 or the Caddy under the tarp are drivers, at least not without some work. The Caddy at the gas station is gone now so I assume it's a driver. The guy that has the F1 is torn between fixing up the F1 or the '52? Buick 2DRHT. I doubt that he'll do either one. He's really into the round de round thing and has no time.

The last shot of the local inventory. Here's just one of the many old vechicles that the local Bail Bond company has sitting around, all over the area. Talk about coming to a bad end! How degrading!

I went tin huntin today with a friend and was impressed with what we found. All I will say is that it was East Texas.

Found a tractor wrecking yard will lots of decent hoods, grills, etc. I was finally able to lay my hands on a Ferguson nose. Found these neat dashboards. Not sure what they fit but I could see using them on a rod. Also found this comfy bucket seat.

Then we spotted this row of old Ford's. The 63 Fairlane and the Falcon Futura caught our eye. If anyone wants to decipher the door tag on the Fairlane. Looks like it had been hot rodded at some point.

The best was this 58 Fairlane. 63k miles on it. Stored indoors until the past 15 years where it sits now. Body was super straight and all the trim was there and in good shape. The seats were covered in clear vinyl that was cracking so the seat material under neath looked new. Unfortunately they are probably dry rotted. It either had a 292 or a 312. We spoke with the owner and he was asking $2k. Seemed like a fair price considering its condition. Except for a little rust on a rear quarter and a door corner bent, there didn't appear to be any other dents that we could find. Original pale green and white. I have a feeling this car is going to haunt me.

We spotted many more than I could take pictures of here. Lots of 50's cars. Nothing older than 48 though.
