Someone need to reproduce the old marsh racing slicks, The have double whitewalls and the most extreme pie crust ever on a tire (like 2"). I have an old pair but they are dry rotted, came off a '57 ford gasser from the 60's, i'll have to get a pic of them.

Can someone post a pic of these goodyear blue streak dragway specials! I don't know what they look like. And also, not starting anything here but back in the 60's what would you have put on a 65 gto other that stock, I know I'm going to get slaped for this one, But worth a try.;)

  6. No joke. These tires look great on a short bed pick up too. I'm tired of the big wheel rubber band tire look that's popular now.

Hey I just google the goodyear blue streak dragway specials, and found a pic of one one display at a mustang show with a sign --Goodyear borrowed an original 695x14 Blue Streak tire[IMG] from Brent Galloway's '66 Shelby GT350 to create this prototype for reproductions that will be available soon--- this was from the 33rd Mid-America Performance Ford And Shelby - Shelby Stampede.

Ok me bad that is not a dragway specials, are there two kinds.

I'd like to see Firestine Lightning 7 inch drag slicks (they had a lightning style tread) reproduced--they came on the 1964 Thunderbolts.

    I will second.
Yup, 5.00-16 and 7.00-16 with the the vintage look on the outside, built on a passenger car radial carcass (not some 8 or 10 ply truck carcass), tubeless, that are round, and can be balanced would do it for me.

Not a repro, but a tall, mid-profile high-performance radial in a relatively skinny width, for instance something like a 185/60R19. That'll give the general proportion in side elevation of, in this case, a 4.50x19 but with a bit more performance potential. I'm looking for tall skinnies that'll fill front fenders in a Vintage way.

I was about to say a 275/60R15 in something better than an S speed rating, but cursory investigation reveals that Nitto do a 275/60R15V.

I would have to add my vote for the M/T Indy S/S, they wore well while offering decent street traction. The M/T Sportsman I's would be a close second they were a better traction tire but were not offered in large enough sizes.

During the mid-50's there were colored sidewall tires produced...green, blue, red, yellow... not port-walls. Never saw any but one old timer was talking about 'em last week.
