I had no idea how full the lot was until I saw the overhead video from the drone. Andy and his crew had to do some quick thinking as to where to park the extra cars that came to the show. Thanks for all your hard work.

It was a great show and everything went smoothly! I did see a few cars turn around because the entrance was not marked. I knew enough to keep driving until I found it, but I passed 2-3 likely entrances that were blocked. No one was directing traffic on the way out, so I ended up at a dead end in the camping area.
Other than that minor blip, the show was great with a good swap meet. I miss the variety of food vendors though.

  9. ...so,...how many cars showed this year, anyone have a rough idea?

We had 800 registration cards printed. We ran out about noon or 1230 on Saturday. Keep in mind we count vintage motorcycles as entries as well. Based on what Andy stated, there were about 30 more cars after we ran out. So that means about 830 traditional hot rods, customs, and vintage cycles..... - not to mention the cool cars in the friends area and the killer bikes that were parked outside (did anyone see that HD Knucklehead parked outside!!!!) The Midwest Jalopies, Flat Track MN guys, and many feature cars did not get reg cards. We are comfortable saying there were 900 total cool rides on site. As for the exit strategy for next year - we will have it clearly marked.

  11. ...thanks, any word on next year's dates for T-Fest?

First and foremost, it was a great show, a good cause and the volunteers were super. We will make the 800 mile round trip next year.

As to suggestions: How about a water tank truck to keep the dirt parking lot dust at a minimum next year. Still trying to get the heavy layer of dust cleaned out of the wagon. And as already mentioned some thought to an entrance at the other end of the grounds instead of having to drive through the swap meet.

Seriously about the dust? Come on guys suck it up, its part of these shows at fairgrounds. Even if you drove only on pavement into the show and to your parking spot, the dust from the spectator parking lot and dirt track would cover your car anyways. These cars have been around 50 plus years a little dust won't hurt them.

FWIW, everyone complained about the dust at the Hunnert Car Pileup when it was in Morris, so one year we got a water truck as Fat47 suggested. All the water was absorbed into the ground and it was back to dust a short while later. Other years, when it had rained a lot, it was mud. Which is better for your car and shoes? When we were in Decatur and nothing but grass and paved surfaces, everyone complained that it was boring. :) The point is that people are going to complain about something no matter what. :D

There was a water truck all over the camping section. He was constantly wetting stuff down
