Notice the guy with the Black hat standing at the rear of the car. That is Smokey Yunick that should answer a lot of questions. He always read not what the rules said but what they did not say.

for the background on those in pic of sprint car with "unique" Trophy Girl above - found no info on who she was - but, everyone in pic seeming to be laughing so, this was likely a special set up - Driver, Gary Patterson, was a well known Sprint Car driver "The Preacher" & one of the original Outlaws - #2 car owner of Gene Welch Racing Enterprises was a owner/driver - main sponsor Mike Salta Pontiac of Sacramento, CA - Salta was one of the first "mega dealers" with 24 dealerships - race may have been at West Capitol Raceway

 

I can't remember where I found this, but these guys crack me up!

 

Must have come in second place. The trophy and girl for third was worse.
