    Dave Heerensperger owner of Eagle Electric in Spokane bought the boat. Eagle Electric became Pay n' Pak, and Heernsperger raced boats under that name for several years.

    The U 8 was built by Bob Patterson in 1967 for Laird Pierce who owned Parco orings. It became the U 80 when Bob bought it from Laird in 1970. I have lunch with Bob most days, he’s 93 years old. The boats’s still in his backyard since they parked it in 1987.
