Ok, so I have a question about a pair of vintage front runners I've run across. I am absolutely certain that they're Magnesium since they're pretty much black and have a powdery oxidation. They are 15x3-1/2 inches and they are the 12-spoke design. Obviously, these do not have provisions for brakes, and they are spindle mount. They still have bearings and have Ford stamped into the bearings, so I'm assuming they're for an early Ford spindle...I don't know. The wheels don't have the castings and serial numbers like an old American Racing wheel and they don't have a Halibrand "tag" or casting, so I'm curious as to what these wheels are. Got any ideas??? I'm an idiot because I didn't take a picture of them when I looked 'em over, so no pic...sorry. Any help is appreciated. THANKS!!!

  2. I know a guy who has a set on his car. He raced in the 60's and used these wheels. He told me a long story about the wheels. Problem is I don't remember the story.. I'll try to get in contact with him and get back to ya. I do remember the wheels were worth some good bucks.

  3. Only other wheels like you describe were the old Romeo Palamides wheels..
If I remember correctly they were genuine magnesium..not alum...
They were for a early ford spindle...
