I found these Virgin Canada Heads. What should I do?

    A. Should I take its virginity and put them on my car. I thinking it might be a sin.

    B. Hang them on my wall and tell everybody one day I will put them on my car.

    C. Sale them on Egay and us the money to buy something nice for the wife.

    D. Go Green and recycle them so they can be made in to beer cans.

Thanks again for all of your support.

Maybe sell them to a guy who is restoring a Canada-only exclusive car. Maybe a Mercury or something like that. I imagine they are hard to find regardless, much less in Canada.

    I'd suggest:

    A. Running them on your car.

    B. Sell them to someone who will use them.

    C. Donate them to me, a fellow Canadian so that I can hang them on a wall and tell everyone that one day I will put them on a car. :D

    They're just parts. Use them.

  4. Hanging nice parts on the wall is a sin. Run 'em.

  5. You have to ask?

I wore the damn T shirt out 50 years ago, and ain't up on today's flathead prices, but what you have is very valuable to the right person who needs them for a replica or restoration. If you get what they're worth for them, maybe on a Ford site, or a restoration site, you'll have enough to buy a new set of aftermarket Edelbrocks, plus a lot of other extra **** with the cash you get for those.
But be sure they're genuine Canadiad Ford OEM.
Back in the days of running flatheads in Sportsman stock cars, most tracks would cl*** your car as a modified if you had non oem heads.. Then some of the bucks up guys started buying up all they could find in Canada and elsewhere that were the oem Canadian aluminum heads. And they got scarce and expensive.
Then one of the aftermarket head guys, IIRC Weiand, started making a head that at a less than thorough inspection was identical for less money and most tracks accepted them.
They were better than the iron heads and maybe better than the OEM, but may not be worth quite as much!

They are considerably lighter than the cast iron variety.

Weiand's were cheater heads. They look exactly like the Canadian heads until you turn them over and see Weiand underneath by the water neck where it can not be seen with the head installed to p*** tech. but ran higher compression ratios.

I agree they should be used instead of wall art, but if I wanted the most bang for my buck, I'd put a little effort into finding a buyer who is willing to spend enough bucks to get stuff true to his restoration, and get more speed and power stuff like a cam or intake, headers, etc. along with some other heads for my ride.

So, if you started dating a virgin you would consider preserving the status quo?

Well they won't degrade or drop in value if you hang them on the wall for while and now that folks know you have them you might get an offer that will pay for something that the current project really needs.
Or use them on a totally period correct car or sell them to someone who actually needs them to make his/her build or restoration perfect.

We have had guys on here build some pretty nice cars around less than a set of virgin Canadian Ford aluminum heads so that they might just be the beginning of a new project that you debut at the Revolution in a couple of years.

Stick them on a car and use them. Polish them up and they look better then any edelbrock that you now buy. Watch your coolant so that you don't get electrolysis eating up the aluminum.

I have a set of cheaters that are in very good condition and they will be going onto a motor.

Some days I wonder if I am at the wrong site when the responses I read state the parts should be saved for the restorers. Screw that; run them.

Return them to their country of origin immediately or we invoke Secret Plan X which take over your radio stations and play Celine Dion non stop until your heads explode like in the movie Mars Attacks.

    You have been warned..............

These heads were cast at the Alcan Factory in Kingston, Ontario Canada which were manufactured for both the early and late flat heads, both Ford and Mercury. However; the early Ford heads, which are pictured, are not as rare compared to the late aluminum heads. The early heads are still floating around out there however the late heads are becoming extremely sought after.

'Cheater heads', well "Weiand" manufactured heads without the fins, however; these were obviously aftermarket heads as the aluminum heads pictured are a gennie Ford item....

There has been much discussion regarding these original aluminum heads, with a few different opinions, however; some very knowledgable dirt, circle track racers and antique guru's from my area share the same opinion.....

"MADE IN CANADA" is embossed on the heads as you can see above picture.

All Canadian aluminum heads had markings as numerous heads are floating around without markings, which are more often than not, finned heads which had the fins milled off as dicussed below.

Remember, old time circle track racers in Ontario, Canada and upstate N.Y. would machine the fins off of aftermarket heads as the rules for dirt, circle track racing, once stated: "No finned heads". Hence, the racers taking this rule to the letter of the word, would mill the fins off of the heads.

The rules then stated; "No aftermarket heads", however; Canadian heads would still be permitted under this rule.

The third rule change, finally read; "No aluminum or after market heads" as the majority of racers and rule makers were initally unaware of factory aluminum heads.

This is quoted from an old time circle track racer who was there !

I don't believe Celine Dion would work. Try KD Lang that guy is the worst. I would have give up the heads to save man kind.
