Need some advice (or relevant thread) on shipping a non-op 1954 Dodge panel from southern Oregon to the island of Kauai. I know there were a couple of people mentioned in threads that will handle logistics for transport (and load the container, maybe?) Any suggestions would be appreciated. I'm planning a push truck/tow rig. Thanks. (No actual virgins will be shipped.)
Hello, first make sure it will fit in a twenty foot container, then figure how you will secure it in said container, obviously no gasoline allowed, also ask the shipper if it matters whether you are shipping parts or a complete vehicle? good luck, was on Kauai this past March, nice island we had a great time. Hope this is of some use to you , always better to ask then be surprised.
Thanks, MrMike. A 20 footer should do the trick, and I e-mailed a shipper for a quote. Kauai is the Garden Island, but we also have a DRAG STRIP!!! Might try to do a "Southern Gassers" build of something early sixties and see if I can get some interest going.
Check with Pasha Hawaii. They are much more reasonable than other shippers. They don't ship to Kauai but Young Brothers does the inter-island cargo barge route. As for the drag strip, what can I say. Y'all have one, Maui has one and I think there are still two in the Big Island but we no longer have one on Oahu, the most populous of the islands. Go figure.
