Drop the rear end, add some skirts, a cool set of full wheel covers, chopt the top (or not), and get rid of that ugly ass visor. Done!
Really appreciate the feedback guys. I removed the visor and already like what I see; will post some pics later.
I don't think it matters. The car is not lowered, nosed or decked. looks like a stocker with a few bolt on items. There is nothing wrong with that, always being able to go back (to stock) for resale purposes are often necessary. Necessary depending on one's budget or motive for purchasing the car.
Well my 50 chevy has a visor. It was the first thing I did to the car. I love it! I drove it to the Lockhart Hatters show. This is kind of funny to me ,one friend liked the look so much that he bought a visor for the 47 chevy coupe that he was driving and another friend bought a 47 chevy coupe like my buddy was driving. You should do what you like and I see that you have. I hope!
i think with the spots and lakes and visor it looks more like a bomb,,, witch i think is bitchen,,, for a more period correct look id get rid of the cnc flamed caps,,, but i really dig the look of the car as is
With all the candy you have on it how. Put the skirts back on it and lower the rear end. Just kidding, personally I'd pull the visor.spot, lakes, and lower the front...JMO
Probably 1/2 the ones telling you to lose it are salavating and hoping you post it in the HAMB classifieds so they can scoop it up.They sure bring some nice $$$ on evilbay,I would love to have an original visor for my '54 the sun can scorch your eyeballs out here in Phoenix if you are driving West around 5:30-7:00 PM.
Remount the outside mirrors so that they are at the same level ... looks kind of odd as it is now. Otherwise a nice looking car, but lose the visor and bolt-on crap.
Visor only if it is a tail dragger with all of the Bomba regalia to go with it. The car would look a hell of a lot better minus it and the sidepipes though as both look stuck on on an otherwise clean little hot rod. A bit too much of the Western Auto/Pep boys bolt on customizing going on there.
I was around in the 1950s and I was paying attention. Visors were used by two groups and neither group was hot rodders. Hot rodders took things OFF the cars. We didnt add accessories
