I don't normally go thru someones set of photos but you had me with the first ground to air shot...then the girls posing for the other guys.
I felt as if I were at the show, looking thru your eyes.
Many kudos from an old pic guy from the past.. this it the way and means everyone should post shows;.;....beyond cool , it way great. I felt I was there and isn't that the reason we shoot images anyway????AND what a FANTastIC
    SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The ones next to the eyes aren't so bad, but the forehead one has got to go!

srosa707, I'm with you. I'm glad I didn't go. Quality control leaves alot to be desired.

Thanks for the pics anyway though.

Thanks for the kind words. I love shooting photos, even if I'm not a real photographer. Kinda like a musician that can't read or write music, but knows how to rock out. I really don't know the first thing about f stops, shutter speed, and all that bullshit. I do know what looks good though. The camera does all the real work. I will tell you that the speedlight was a great investment, that really improves your daytime shots the most. Everything just pops when it's lit up. On with the show.

I was attempting to comprehend why somebody would build something as ridiculous as this :

Then I came across this photo and it all made perfect sense :

There was actually some awsome engineering and fabrication involved in that sedan. The deisel engine spooled up like a mo-fo. And those girls were on roller skates and looked a little better in motion. The camera can be unkind at times. Like I said, like buttermilk pancakes at IHOP.

Was there any good cars there? What about normal chicks? Or was it all rat rods and Blubber Betty's?
I would demand my money back!!

There were alot of good looking chicks too, but they weren't posing too much. Each camp had a few girls, but surrounded by like 5 to 10 guys, you couldn,t get a shot of them. I also asked a few hotties that were walking around all dolled up if I could shoot their pic and I was rejected. Why get all dolled up and not want pics taken? And this is a traditional rod/kustom show (AKA ratrod show) so the low dollar and minimal finish are the status quo. There were a few nicely finished cars but the majority were ratty, patina, low brow rods and kustoms. I know the term "rat rod" is dispised but you know what I mean. I doubt if it moved out of Vegas if I would follow if to another city. Much prefer something like a Paso style show with alot more finished sleds, kustoms, and rods. Ever since it was moved off the parking deck and the Gold Coast it's definitely lost something. Still nice to have a kool local show, but it's not the same.

  15. great pics. cheers.

  16. Like I said on another VLV thread, farm impliments on crack.

'Blubber Betties', that's a good one. I always liked Orca Betties. As an expression.

I wont take all that they hand me down,
And make out a smile, though I wear a frown,
And I wont take it all lying down,
cause once I get started I go to town.

cause Im not like everybody else

It was in the Shifter club lineup that all I know.

  22. Lots of heavy hotties and rat rods. Note to self: What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas for a reason.

It was never better than about 5-6 years ago and on the roof-top car park at the G.C. Seems to have changed a lot.

    finally! thank you!
i was beginning to think i was the only one who thought this thing was stupid, and stupid for many reasons...

this is one of those "just because you can doesn't mean you should" things.

this asshole thought he was the man with this piece of shit. he fired it up every fifteen minutes all damned day long. my throat is still sore from breathing diesel smoke. we couldn't even sit in our own tent on our own chairs by our own cars without his mess wafting through the air all day.

    good goin' dickhead!
