VLV was originally about rockabilly music, and the car show part was secondary. It really isn't something that can be explained on a thread like this, especially if the music isn't a big deal to you. I think for a lot of people, seeing pictures of VLV is like seeing pictures of a Star Trek convention - it just seems goofy. Truth is, it is a very cool show, and the people that are there are a big part of what makes it fun. Not everyones thing, to be sure, but lots of people - like me - think it's a blast.

We go pretty much every year to see the cars, bands, and even the people.

Another huge poser fest. Well worth skipping. We actually tried this year to stop by, planning an in/back out, just to peek at a few certain people's out-of-town cars...line looked hours long. Later someone I knew said he waited an hour and a half to get in, then decided it was not worth it anyway. It's that big of a draw now for all the next gen of kids just discovering wallet chains and Chuck Taylors? Wow.

I just love how disrespectful some of you guys could be.I dress like those guys,and hell,I could possibly be in one of those pics.Maybe some other HAMB'ers too.Some of those gals on there might be the wives of some HAMB'ers.A few of you sound worse than the douchebags that get thrown out of my bar.Has some respect for other people,instead of being internet badasses and talking trash about people you don't even know.

 

VLV is fun and has a lot of cool cars, you just gotta be prepared to deal with all the sea turtles and cool daddies. Also be forewarned if you are drinking anything other than Pabst or Bud you might get a stink eye or two for not drinking appropriate "traditional" beer.

 

I know for me, I can say that I don't think the comments are like theones beiong throwj around by a bunch of old farts on the AACA chat about Viva Las Vegas, like they're all stupid for being into that STYLE (most people on the HAMB are into this stuff)...just that it has gone from a small, but well know Rockabilly cocert series and GOOD, traditional car show, with true car nuts there...to that PLUS a big cheesy, poser factor. Come on, you know this if you've been there...why be offended? NOt what it used to be.

 

Viva was a great show with a lot of very creative rodders. Nothing more, nothing less cool people with even cooler cars.

hooligan63 you nailed it.Viva is great and if you dont like it stay home with your lawn chairs and your crying dolls.Dont have long on this earth to have fun an i aint gonna start by denying myself great cars ,great music and the ability to talk and share custom ideas with people around the world.Dress up or other wise.

I would love to see pics of all the shit talkers themselves! Of course they never want to show their faces, I bet there are a few things I can point out that make you guys some of the coolest sheep out there!

 

I agree.....I look like the people there and it was a fucking blast. StationWagons (although I am a wagon lover), is the poser. Seems to be the cool thing to bash on Viva but that is from people we would not want there anyway.......I say to hell with em'..... You don't want to have a good time with some cool people, cool cars, great music, then stay the fuck home we don't want you're whining ass there anyway. Just stay home and be cool by bashing thousands of people having a killer time.......

Wow, great pictures! That light blue '28-'29 A roadster with the Hallock windshield and black tonneau cover is KILLER! By far my favorite one. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

 

How could a car show in las vegas, with pin ups, and music not be a good time? I think some guys should just lightin up. I have not been to the show, but it sounds fun to me.
