That El Camino was incredible, gotta agree with ya Scott. Good seeing you over the weekend. That Caddy powered roadster was cool, but the litte RPU along from it was VERY cool.
Very nice pics thanks for sharing them.I really want to check out vlv but not to sure on the 80 $ wrist bands is that right?
We also went to LA before VLV, Disney has some cool 'set dressing' We also dropped in on Circle City Hot Rods & Limeworks... And the NHRA Museum at Pomona....
We weren't there, we appreciate the pictures. Don't forget to enter the compe***ion when it hits your town, Dave.
Thanks for stating that. Its true, some of the cars pictured on this thread were not allowed to park in the show area but were parked on the top lot.
Nads, You were a staple at VLV and everyone has been asking about you. Hopefully next year we'll see that smiling face again. For those that don't know, Nads drove his chopped Chevy to VLV all the way from Orlando Florida a few years back. Amazing !
Will do...I hear your a finalist this year.... I'll hold you to that! Indeed this is true, I just posted stuff in the order I shot em!
i talked to tha guy who built that truck friday night he told me it was a 52 ford pickup, and its too bad there isn't a left side pick cause the filler neck for the gas tank comes up right infront of the the number 1 primary tube for the headers, and it runs across the bottom og the frame under the oil pan i have a feeling it was only about 5 to 7 gallong in capacity
no prob i just can't remember the guys name tho, lol the only question i didn't ask him was were the air tank was i have a feeling it may be up underneath the dash, the fourlink was really cool it was tucked way up under the body
Cool! Thanks for the info! Hmmm... would love to hear more about how he positioned the 4-link setup. Must be some pretty short links.
he built them out of i belive like 4130 thick wall rod (3/4 - 1" od) with hime (probably spelled that wrong) joints at the ends and actualy radiused the rods down in a lower arc under the back of the cab so it kind of swooped underneath it looked really clean, the damn thing looks like a blast to drive. it reminded me of when i used to race 1/4 midgets lol!!!
Also, there's something I don't understand. Every time this guy gets bashed for his ugly cars he and others cry about how they're not supposed to be a traditional hot rods, but he always seems to be at traditional hot rod shows or the traditional areas of hot rod shows. If they're art cars go to Burning Man with them and hug a bunch of stoned, smelly hippies. If you don't want people to make fun of your dog don't take it to a horse show.
They are blue on my screen too...I was playing with the settings on the new point n press....I like the effect.
That is the coolest thing ive ever seen.I think Ian roussel built it.amazing hes a fabrication god.and one hell of a painter
