I just got a Volare clip (actually it's a 5th Ave clip), and the a-arm bolts are missing. Will I have to go to a boneyard to find the bolts, or can I just use a replacement bolt? The factory bolt has a collar around the head, but the collar doesn't seem like a must-have. I live near Austell, Ga, and there is a place there called Ty-Bolts. They deal in specialty type bolts, so finding a bolt there would be fairly simple, just wanted to know what you guys think. My thought is that a bolt of the right size with a knurled type collar would be fine Thanks for any help.
Have you tried a Chrysler dealer yet? I'd rather get the right piece of hardware rather than risking it coming loose when you at least expect it. Bob
Bob's right, even give moparts.com a try, or any mopar specific board, what about wreckers like wildcat? Try and get some OEM stuff, there's lots out there
If the "collar" you speak of, is a "shoulder" or a "knurled shoulder", it's there for a reason..........The shoulder, is so there will be, "No threads in bearing", as in threads will be completely out of the bore............a good practice! If they are knurled, it's to keep them from spinning, more that likely, when making suspension adjustments, ( shimming, etc....). Get the right bolts, and press on.................
