Injected L88 and no front brakes, yehaa!

Is the front spring inside the frame?

    Great story!

Man...what a thing to have...and keep it in the basement you shared with Von Dutch.
    Incredible!!!

Whats with the trans? Clutch and push buttons. Clutch-flyte?

I'm impressed with the body on this by the obvious quality of the fiberglass and how well everything seems to fit together.
EG, The top of the bed rails are perfect and flat.
Wonder was that from the builder or was it the result of a lot of work for the guy putting it together?

That engine needs to stay with the car in my opinion.

Interesting story to go with the car. His striping is good, I'd like to see more pix of the car and hear less about him. Yeah, he was a talented artist and his work is valuable today.

Great story, sad to see the "T" so neglected.
I'm sure with a little encouragement it could look great again.

Hot Rod Deluxe-----The current (Jan 2017) issue has a very nice article on this T and a little insight on Dutch at that time in his life. It sure seems to be a "hand grenade" car.

Wow! Car and the garage are a time capsule. The 'T' looks like it drove right out of a vintage R&C magazine.
Speaking of which, does anyone know if the car was ever featured in a magazine?

I agree with Hackerbilt's comment:"the engine needs to stay with the car". (let the Corvette restorer find another L-88 for his project).

  19. As the old saying goes."You can't shit an old turd, theres no steam on it",Now.I am an old turd alright, but something about this story seems a little fishy...Number one,I have never seen any Von Dutch striping in that style,,and I have seen many.Just does not look like his work.also, any of you guys ever been to ElPaso??Flat as a board.NO steep hills..Am I wrong?????Comments???

I want to believe.... but its hard to do. Doesn't look like Dutch's style at all, and the signature really looks like a stencil/screen print or some sort of non hand pulled letters, and hasn't worn like hand done letters either.

I want to believe... why didn't they post any photos of Dutch with the car like the article says exist?

  23. ..... pretty sure you read it like I thought that I did. Right ? o_O Of course ... I'm frequently an idiot but, thankfully I know you aren't.

Love this story. It's a cool T, but surrounded by all of that environment it's extra special. Too bad it can't be just left alone. It won't be of course.

  26. It seems funny that the guy claims he only knew him as Kenny, yet it said "Von Dutch 69" right on the car. And that he supposedly didn't know the value of the artwork, yet "Gary explained he had two different tailgates for preservation of the Von Dutch logo." Also the "wings" that he immediately recognized don't look like typical Dutch wings to me either. Maybe it's just some really bad writing, but things don't quite add up. I don't know ......

I think there is enough photography to back the claim...

From what I understand, there are even shots of Dutch painting the car. So....

Ryan, I hope youre right. My thoughts again, we all love Dutch, so if theres shots of him painting... why not publish them?
Either way, its a flat nasty little T, I'd love to have it in my stable

  29. I tended to believe the overall story, there just seems to be some inconsistency in the poor writing that makes one wonder a little.
