VooDoo Child exceeded Roadstar wildest expectations! He ran away with four awards. Of course Rudy built VooDoo Child as a driver and offical trophies don't really mean much, but to be recognized by your peers for a year and a half of hard work is a great feeling.

VooDoo Child took first place in his class. He also took the 2004 Tom Sullivan Memorial award, which expresses the true meaning of the sport and hobby, friendship, family and fun with cars. He took the 2004 Street Achievement for Best Street, and Outstanding Individual Display 10X20.

VooDoo Child was well received by not only the judges, but the general public as well. I sure wish Rudy had a dollar for every photo that was taken of VooDoo Child. He worked long and hard and deserved every award he receieved along with all the kudos from his friends, which of course means the most to him.

Way to go hun! I'm proud of ya!

HELL YEAH!!! [IMG] Congrats Rudy! My Dad and my friends agreed that your car was one of the coolest, cuz it was a REAL CAR, not a full sized Model car. You deserved every one of those awards, and probably a few more!!! Way to go! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

WAY TO GO RUDY!!!! That truely was one of the outstanding cars at this years Autorama. Just goes to show that a lot of hard work and less than $500,000 will still turn out a great car. The reason I mention the money is IMHO this car is head and shoulders above of the reported $800,000 Willys that most people just gave a big yawn (a nice chassis and little else). If Rudy had started with $800,000 he would still have 3/4 of a million left and a cooler car.
Of course I think you know what just happened to the price of that '32 roadster Rudy. hehe!!!
    CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!

Great looking car, Rudy. Love the color combo of black, copper and white, nice, subtle, classy!
Didn't get to say "hi" to you or any of the other HAMBers, though (except Ray Safarinut!) Between staring in awe at most of the cars, and having some friends with me, who had to drag me to the Casinos, and the nude bars in Canada, I didn't make any of the meetings. Walked by Rudy's and Starliners afew times, but didn't see anyone who looked like a HAMBer, could be wrong, though.
Anyway, great show, great cars. Congrats, Rudy!

Whaddaya know? There IS some justice in the world...when a hard-working, down-to-Earth guy like Rudy can take FOUR awards with a clean & classy ride like Vood-Doo Child!!

[IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Roadstar's 40 was easily one of the nicest honest-to-goodness STREET DRIVEN cars at the show. We all know Rudy is no lawn chair fairgrounds poser...he'll be hitting the streets of Motown this Spring and Summer racking up the miles & smiles in his BAD ASS 40!

Congratulations, Buddy...on a VERY well deserved day in the spotlight!!!

WAY TO GO RUDY!!!! i seriously thought it was one of the best cars there but i am surprised that the judges agreed. i thought they would be all about the high dollar plastic cars. good to know they do have some good taste.

thats just too cool my friend. CONGRATS!!!

  29. Thanks to all of you, belive me I am still in shock [IMG].

The attention this car got was overwhelming. This has never happened to me and I really don't know quite what to say.

Yes it will be driven, and driven hard like all the others.
In fact actually felt good the scrape the lower grill loading inthe trailer for the LAST!! time. [IMG]

I wish I knew what else to say [IMG].

Thanks again, and I have some HAMB guys to thank too.

Dan Barnett [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]truly one of the coolest guys I have ever met. He did the sighn. In a sea of viynal lettering his hand lettered effort stood tall. I will never be able to thatnk him enough for his generosity. DBF [IMG]

And the striping GOD the brought the artwork alive on the deck lid and under the hood ,Jeff Shea [IMG].

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

And lastly Thanks to The Hotrodladycrusr for orginizing the HAMB gatherings each and everyday and being there to support me. She is truly a HARD CORE HOTROD CHICK [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
