I've been waiting for someone to announce that Voo Doo Larry won "Best of Show" at the Ducktail Run held in Gas City, In. last weekend. he came down in his new bright green custom.

None of the Voo Doo Kings were at the Ducktail on Sunday. Larry won this 3+foot tall award for his car and the event management wasn't sure how to get it to him.

After awards we went up and told them that we would be seeing him at the Pileup in two weeks so they gave it to us. For anyone who sees Larry, tell him we will bring it to the Pileup. It will either be in my son's red and white '55 Desoto or my flat copper colored '51 Merc.

Larry, congradulations to a deserving, nicely done car

    Congratulations Larry!

I believe that it is a 46 Ford or Dodge and it has been channeled and the fenders widened and a whole lot of crazy stuff. A lot of nice little details. I've been following this build for awhile and look forward to seeing it in person

I'm sorry but that car just doesn't do it for me....I thought a custom was supposed to flow?

I'm not going to argue about craftsmanship, I haven't seen it in person.

Perhaps that's just a REALLY bad pic of the car? It's right up there with the "El Matador" in my book....and those hubcaps? Come on...

Was this thing built in Florida?

    ***Edit***

Ok, I went and looked at some of the other pics of the car from another thread, and I've got to say, that the photo above doesn't do much for the car. It's not neary as bad as that photo makes it seem.

The interior of the car is real nice...I like it quite a bit. Tasteful and subtle.
The tail lights are ugly IMHO, but they were ugly to begin with.

I don't think the Kaiser dagmars on the front and the dummy spots belong either, but I'm not the builder.

Anyhow, I'm not here to piss in anyone's Cheerio's....I'm sure some smart *** will say "let's see what you built"...blah blah blah.

    Congratulations on the trophy Voodoo

I think some sort of running board would have improved the look dramtically. Those front fenders just seem to be hanging out in space. Other than that I think it looks pretty good. And that pic does not do it justice.

nothing on the outside of the car is later 1952

Yea, its interesting alright. When you enlarge the pics, you can see the wavy bodywork around the doors.

Not my "cup of tea" but a step up from the other stuff I have seen Larry do...does that mean I like it? No.

WHY do people ask this stupid question...???

I'd bet, according to the owner's ***le and registration, it still IS...

Body work didn't change the make or manufacturer of the car...it only changes the outward appearance...

A better question would by WHY would the owner do this...??? But then again, it all depends on what the owner wants...and taste is very subjective.
