Long time voyeur, first time posting. Name is Hugh Tucker Jr and i am a real nostalgia fan. I was born (vs hatched) to a couple from So Cal that was deeply involved with drag racing in the late 50's thru the 60's. My folks pulled away from the sport when their second child was born in 68. My father went to work for the LAFD and never looked back until his retirement in 97. We spent 4 years restoring his old roadster and have been able to partcipate in several reunions and cacklefests. Currently we both have engines with out cars.I never like to do things like the majority. I have a 346 Cadillac that started life in a tank and found its way into a Cord. A friend gave me the engine with one condition...i use it in a traditional hot rod. Joined to help and be helped. Thanks, Hugh
Thanks Gary, Forgot to mention that i have a large collection of 60's nostalgia photos. I will start adding these when i get to my own computer. Hugh
Welcome Hugh Junior....how about talking your dad into joining for some bench sessions. Please pass along my thanks to him for the enjoyment I got from watching him race in the old days. I was happy to see you guys get the Chevy back and restore it. All photos are not only welcome, but required..... Mutt
Hey Hugh, I met you at the Swindlers poker run a few years back. You were driving a Ranchero if I recall. Saw your Dad's car down in LA I think the year before. You are a great addition to the HAMB. Welcome, I was the guy driving the green track roadster.
Well, Welcome neighbor! Nostalgia Drag Pictures? I can never get enough of those. Dug You didnt try to beat Him up did Ya. FEDER
Welcome aboard Hugh. What's it gonna take to get the Chevy roadster to the HOTROD-A-RAMA this year. I was wondering if you were still around this area. I met you at the Monroe swap a couple of years ago and on the Swindler's poker run as well. Come hang out with us goons sometime. Dale
Thanks Mutt, My father joined and will be sharing some of his old memories with you. I will pass on your kind words to him. If you look at the: youtube 1963 drag racing nationals at indianapolis post, check out about 3:20 in the near lane and enjoy. We will be looking for him to return from NorCal around the end of the month. His identity is AA/SR..Very fitting I thought. I will post some more photos for you guys when I get to my computer. Hugh (Junior)
Thanks Rolf, Your coupe build was so well documented and a very enjoyable read. I appreciate the effort and thought it took to build that coupe. Awesome results....looking forward to seeing it first hand. Hugh
Hey Doug, I remember following you and wishing that my roadster could do more than 1320 feet. I saw your track roadster at the Hot Rod o Rama last summer. Did you sell it? Was that Keith driving it? What are you driving, building?? Thanks , Hugh
Hey FEDER, Im stuck in Tacoma and cant get to my computer just yet. I will post some vintage stuff thats never been released. My Godfather was a photographer and a car owner during the 60's and 70's. I was given a collection he shot during 60's and i will let you be the judge of his work. Thanks Hugh
Dale, Saw you at your event last summer and dont think you remembered much from Saturday night. I am staying at my Gals house in the UPS district and would dig a beer or seven. Did you open a shop in Auburn? I am greasing the proper wheels with the Tacoma PD to allow me a get-out-of-jail-free-card. Thats what will be required to keep me a free man after I drive the roadster in to The HOTROD-A-RAMA this year. Hugh
I can't sell that car, just wanted Keith to have a ride. I drove my '32 five window. Hope to see you soon.
