Ok I know this has been covered somewhere but I have my 6V gauges and the voltage reducers. However, my fuel and temp guages bounce around all over and pulse. Is there some remedy? Also anybody know of an easy way to change the mechanical oil gauge to electric?

Try polarizing your generator, then see if they bounce.

Yeah--ground, ground, ground. Electric gauges have even more spots for ground troubles than rusty tail lights. Sealing compound on sender threads, gasketed joints between manifold-block-head, poorly grounded engine (OEM on many cars), too much paint on freshly rebuilt parts. Run a diagnostic by simply running a wire with alligator clips from the body of sender to ground terminal on battery. ANYTHING electrical that seems mysterious will turn out to be a ground problem, at least 100% of the time...
A rule: ALL old cars have ground problems; The beaters from rust and crud, the finished ones from too much paint and gasket goo.

DR, I have a library of roadrace deuce stuff piling up--you going to Carlisle or anything east of Fort Duquesne this summer?? The kids old enoughj to start learnin' parts ID now, you know...Bruce
