Actually, we have to do some welding on my chassis first. I'll just come over on a Friday night with a pillow and blanket and sleep in the corner and we'll do both.

I actually like how it turned out. The whole purpose of this exercise was to make it "unrefined" out of shit I had laying around. I think it has that going for it.

I was going to use a keg gas tank but I didn't like how that looked in there so I got a new one from MAS.

I guess it is the fact that your past projects have been so bad ass, that "unrefined" doesn't quite do it for me.

It looks like it needs a swoopy shape to the inside of the tail light opening to match the outer curve.

yea, rolling the tailgate out and rounding the outside edges of it to blend with the quarters, and tunneling them lights (love the shape either way on this bed) so they peeked out of the gate would be sweet, but it wouldnt be in the original intent of Aarons build. for what its worth, the boxy "use what i got" look is working for me.

thats also the name of an equipment manufacturor... Grote makes light lenses, turn indicator switches, wiring stuff... lotta shit for big trucks. . . if i remember right, this came off a road flare box?

The tailights do look a little off. They protrude too much. If you sank them in a little I think they might look okay, but right now they kinda look like a festering sore on a hot girl's ass.

Here is a pic of the gas tank in the bed. I had to put it up on some 2 inch risers that I made out of some aluminum bar stock. The Mas tanks are made so that if you mount them on the floor, the bung exits through the bottom where you can't see it. It would be a great idea except for the bung is right in the middle, where my driveshaft is.

 

ok let me be the 1st one to just throw this out there... i think it would look really good if it was chopped!!! i shoulda mentioned it sooner i know..but i like to keep my opinions to myself

 

We'll see Dave. The wheels are getting powdercoated and the tires are on their way from Coker. (My Alliance membership saved me 40 bucks by the way, thanks guys!) I will have to pull it outside to see how it looks first. Ha Ha Ha
