stopped at Goose lake auto parts yesterday and thought I may as well post some shots of the old cars there.

This corvair van is something that I junked back in the eighties. I bought it at the mpls police impound auction for 40 bucks

This wagon was an Nhra record holder. Was called 2 quarts a day and was owned and driven by Lee Sprague

When I first started going to goose lake back in the 70’s this Mopar had a wonderful glittery blue metal flake paint job. It almost all gone now. I busted a hunk off to you could see it 279D05C6-5D52-465A-988D-0C925F40E423.jpeg

This is all that’s left of a Safari wagon that had been there for decades

Those Kaiser(?) front fenders beside the big Mopar would be great on a shoe box...

Nice to see these kinds of places still exist out there.

I would have a hard time not coming back with a portable Sawzall for that quarter panel off that wagon. garage art at its finest.

I keep looking at the Imperial and all the trim and bumpers... so much could be used on a trad Custom.

  25. I wish I had a yard like that by me .

There was one about 40 minutes north of Hamilton that got scrapped out a few years ago and turned into homes .

The further back into the yard you went the older it got .

I would simply pay the price of admission the walk around.

what is it about rusty old cars in a field ?

there was a farm close to my house growing up that had a line of about 30 cars in the back 40 , all old early 70’s to 40’s stuff, I was to young to really know what I was looking at , but me snd my buddies used to sneak over the fence and smoke our stolen cigarettes and look at the cars for hours .

Thanks for the tour. I wouldn't want to see those cars crushed, but it's sad to see them disappear into the ground also.

The pics that I posted are bout all the really old cars left there, but there are piles of them from the 70's and 80's and also school busses full of parts from 50's and 60's cars also racks of steel wheels and bumpers that were removed from cars back in the 70's and 80's....

What a great way to clear your head, nothing but visual beauty and solitude.
Best time to go to a yard is early spring or late fall.(around here)
A bunch of friends are planning a weekend camping trip this fall to a Northern yard, now private, closed in the early 70's....
A good time to go, no Hornets, Wasps, Ticks, Deer or Horse flies.
    Ya know,.. Satan's Air Force.
    What could go wrong?

    Great Post Mark.

we used to have several yards like that within a 30 mile drive now there are none, those 62-65 mopars look like they still have good parts on them, i'm surprised they haven't been picked clean, hey you didn't see a 65 plymouth right front fender did you?
