I have found a Walker 740 floor jack, but cannot get it shipped to me until I can tell the shipper how much it weighs. Thanks
Ask the guy who has it to put it on a bathroom scale and tell you. Why are you shipping it. It’s the seller who wants to get rid of it. I guessing it’s a local pick and your trying to have him ship it. Is he going to box it? wierd…….
The seller lives 800+ miles away and wont ship. I have contacted a 'package and ship' company in his area. They need the weight, height, width, and length to give me a price. The seller says it takes two people to pick it up. Weird, yes, that's what happens when I want something 80-90 years old! Thanks for the suggestion/advice.
I found a couple blurbs online of 117lbs and 150 lbs. sounds about right, the hydraulic ones weighed a ton, but this is like a skeleton of a jack ! Super cool !
The 2 people to move it is cause it’s long and awkward, it’s heavy but not blow out your sphincter heavy
Even at 100 lbs, the I find cost of shipping makes it more than it's worth. I'll have to wait until one is found within 200 miles of Atlanta, then I'll take a trip. Thanks for the info.
It will be EXPENSIVE to ship by FedEx or UPS. It’s BIG and HEAVY. Yes I know it is not an engine or??? but by their standards it is an oversized package. Likely the cheapest would be a LTL freight line (I have had great success with YRC, terminal to terminal, which means the seller would have to get it to a terminal) but it would more than likely have to be banded/secured to a pallet. If I were the seller I would gladly do this (and have done it) but unfortunately most sellers just want someone to show up and have the item taken away!! You don’t mention where it is, but another possibility is to see if someone is heading your direction and would give you a hand. Been there and done that also. I will likely be headed through Georgia in a few months!
