I saw similar wall riders at carnivals back in the 1950s. That was a beautiful film. I admire them. God bless and protect them. What were the bikes -- I'd guess small Indians, about 250 cc ?
As everything. Today they take it to the limit. The wall of death looks like a ride in the park compared to this. I have seen this live and its insane!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAtk1MEItls
Thanks Striper, thats very cool. Funny timing, the circus is in my town right now, a few hundred metres away from my home by the beach. They have a globe of death set up. A friend of mine had a turn about ten years back, and got*****y, taking one hand off the handle bars to wave to the crowd. You can guess the rest. He was a very sore boy, and ive got it on video. Should get it converted to disc. Its pretty funny.
There was a very famous American woman that rode the "Wall of Death" in the late 60's and to the early 90's her name was Samantha... here's a site with more history... http://www.thrillarena.com/Girlriders2/girlriders2.html Great film about what happens when passion meets guts!
Yeah, there are quite of few groups that tour with the bigger motorcycle rallys. There are two close to me in western PA (Johnstown PA's - Thunder In The Valley, and Morgantown WV's - Mountainfest). Both of these have had "The Wall" muliple times over say the last 8-10 years. No matter how many times you have seen it, always a great show...
Striper, Thanks for the vid man. I got more to say I'm sure but thanks for the vid is enough. you're alright.
