Well, since the lander found itself a new awesome home, I was able to move some stuff around in the garage to make it look like I was actually doing something.

The Rocket Queen was progressing nicely, then I got to thinking, Guns and Roses was such a glam band in the beginning. They were all about drinking, coke, hookers, and that goofy drummer even gave himself a stroke with some heroin. They ended up being gritty but a little too polished. Now scarry larry can probably understand why I am changing the name of this truck to the "sea hag". The sea hags were true rockstars, they didn't give themselves strokes, the went all the way and a couple of them even died true rockstar deaths, alone in the gutter on the big horse, even though they never toured in a bus, they lived the life out of the back of a shitty van. I think Sea Hag is a more fitting name since this thing is going to remain unfinished and rusty. Again the whole purpose is just to drive it to Bonneville next year.

I started throwing the floor in it by attaching sheet metal to some channelling plates made out of 16 guage steel with a 2 inch lip on the top and a 4 inch drop down the sides.

I shortened the grille 6.25 inches so it didn't drag the ground. Those chevy grilles are long!

I boxed the rear of the frame and hung the Ford 8 inch rear from a model A front spring on some speedway brackets. It is held in place by some 36 Ford wishbones. I am waiting on my new plasma cutter before I finish the frame so I can notch it in the front for axle clearance. I am getting a new bead roller so the floor is going to wait on that so I can make it look a little nicer with some beads in it. I am moving up in the world! ha ha ha

The hood is a little flattened out from laying around. I don't have the radiator in the grille and the grille bolted down yet. Once I do that I will make it all line up.

I was just wondering what you would do next. Loved the Lander and I like where you are going with this one. Good work.

Cool. The stance and overall proportions are pretty similar to the '38 ford I've been building. I call mine "white trash muscle rod":D Small block chevys rule! What are you putting in for a motor? running the exhaust under the frame or through the hood sides?

Sea Hags were a lot less embarrassing then a lot of bands from that era. Better name choice for you, cool truck.

Its hard to imagine that you take that much time away from watching "Top Gun" and "Spinal Tap" to put so much thought into naming your cars. If I named my car people would laugh in my face. I guess you have to have a certain level of "celebrity" to name your car.

Its lookin really good. I dont remember what you said the plans were about chopping it but personally it could use a little out of the pillars. Not too much though.

You should bring the space truck down to Pocahontas for the Radius Rod Roundup. Melvin usually goes. It will be a killer time d00d.

  29. The tires should stay. I've got some plans up my sleeve...

  30. Yes. Yes he will.
