I am in need of a steering shaft from a 65-66 mustang to fill the empty 65-66 stang steering column I have for my ratrod. Perhaps falcon, fairlane or ford in general of that vintage would fit. Does anybody know or have info concerning that. I do not need the steering box just a cut of shaft. the shaft should be as long as possible and cut right at the box. The column tube is 35 inches long which i wiil probabll cut back to about 30 - 32 inches long. :) Thanks !!

  2. Do you try posting in the classified section? I have not see repop for sale. It's a .75" shaft right?

I have a cut '65 Mustang column in a car, I used outer wheel bearings (.75' ID) from the same car to support the shaft at the cut end. It was cheap and has held up a lot of years.

I will try posting in the clasified . I did not know for sure what the shaft size is not having one. My guess was 3/4 or 1 inch . Thanks for the info and help. Good feeling to know some one else has done the same thing. this is my first major rod build. I have a 32 hudson coupe chopped and channelled project.

I would think just about any cut Ford shaft from the mid 50's to 67 would do the trick.
