I know its been brought up before about a job posting section but haven't seen much more than that. If you feel this should be moved please to so. Hello, My name is Brad and I'm a Mechanical Designer/Draftsman. My contract is almost up (wish i new what a contract was before i dove into the Mech. Eng. field, lol) and I am looking for a new job. It doesn't have to be a contract position, actually it would be nice to be direct. I'm willing to move for the most part anywhere east of the Mississippi but not a must. If its cars its worth it. I have machine (job) shop experience as well as AutoCAD, Inventor, and Solidworks experience. I would really love to get into the Hot Rod/Performance scene but any Design/Drafter position would be worth looking at. Please contact me If you have or know of a job opening. I can provide you with my current resume. -Brad
Look into USAJOBS.gov. Just a quick search netted a load of engineering jobs. http://jobsearch.usajobs.gov/search.aspx?sort=rv&vw=d&brd=3876&ss=0&FedEmp=N&FedPub=Y&q=engineer
Luckily I think the engineering field is one of the few actually hiring at the moment. And beware, at some companies, there is a BIG difference between a drafter and a designer.
What type of position, exactly, are you looking for? The reason i ask, and i ask that way is: a) As you can probably tell, i know nothing about engineering. b) Even though most of the men in my family are engineers (m.e., e.e., c.e., etc.---i was the "black sheep" so to speak....) and thus, by default, i come from an "enginerring background" and thus i may know who's hiring here in the d.c. area because they--my brother, uncles, dad are always talking about it.
The aspects can be gleaned from your thread posts, but I do appreciate the post from C-10. Skill set, actual experience and goals tell a lot to any prospective Eng. employer.
