Hey Gang: 32 Style Wheel Wells: Does anybody produce a repop wheel well for a 32 five window? I'm looking for ones that are as close to what Henry made as possible? I know I can buy a whole roadster quarter/side from Brookville, but I'd like to keep things as original as possible (roadsters have a different profile around the wheel). The body I have had the wells cut out for racing or God knows what. Floorpan and subrails around the wheel wells. I've seen folks use the stuff from Brookville - seems to work out quite well. The floorpan was cut out to channel the car - would like to replace the entire thing (and probably the subrails while I'm at it) - to be as close to original as possible. Any and all help is MUCH appreciated! B&S
I have used the rear replacement wells from **** Spadaro in NY state. They are nice and look like oem.
I looked on his web site - seems to have them at a fairly inexpensive cost. Anybody else comment on quality as compared to what Brookville has in their roadster/coupe rear quarters/sections?
I myself have not used Spadaro's but a friend has a couple times. He puts 32 coupe/roadster wheelwells in 32 Sedans ( to gain more room ) and they are of decent quality.
The only difference between roadster and 5window wheel wells is the shock mount bump on roadsters. I just cut them out and replaced them with flat sheet metal on my 5-window. Most people don't bother to cut them out.
This is the area of change, roadster panels work when modified , although they are a little light (gauge).
Thanks! I've never owned a 32, so there are many details that I'll need to learn about. I recently looked at a 5W that had roadster wheel wells put in - there were bumps/areas like you mentioned and I didn't know what they were for (shocks make sense now). My goal is to restore the body to as close to original/traditional as possible - except for the filled top and mild chop. It will be a blown flathead powered highboy. Pictures: I don't know if you have the body shown easily available, but I'd LOVE to have a set of photos that show the details of the floor pan, rockers, sub rails, wheel wells, etc.. Just seeing the subrails below the wheel wells lets me understand some of the work I'll need to do. The body I've found will need all of this and it is dang hard to work through the details when you don't have an example of what you're headed toward. If it isn't too much to ask, I'd sure love to have a set to work from. I'm sure I'll have measurement questions as well - that is what is so cool about the HAMB, we all help one another! Much appreciate the help and support . . . it will be fun taking the 32 plunge! Dale
