Any HAMB member help me with any info, pictures, data, specs on a Transdapt #KD25 Bell Housing Adapter for a 55-64 Caddy (331-390) to GM 4 speed. If anyone has knowledge of this bell housing I would greatly appreciate hearing about it. I have an opportunity to buy one with a new pilot bushing and want as much info and pictures on it as I can get.
    Thanks, Mike

No info except any original adapter is a rare find for that 2nd generation Cad OHV-8

I expect you will get some PM's from potential buyers :)

Pictures or not, hurry up and buy it...I've seen two of them in the past 35 years of swap meets.

  4. Mike, your next post should be that you bought it and here are the pics.

Here is what my book says about the KD25. Fits Cad 55-64's and you must use a 54-56 Olds flywheel and pressure plate with a 57-60 Cad starter #1107657 12 volt.
    Hope this helps. No pics.

Super rare. I would buy it for sure.

How many teeth would that flywheel have? 176?

no--it's a 153 if memory serves. nobody's making them and the NOS/used pool is getting pretty slim. I found one about 10 years ago and ran it for a while on a schaffer flywhell via a cragger adapter, but ended up changing out the whole setup after I went through 3 6-v caddy starters in short order.

the 54-56 olds flywheel is 176. The older 303 Olds stick flywheel from 50-53 is the smaller one.

The 54-56 is harder to find if you want original Olds pieces, but Ross racing has new ones.

i think i have a NOS 176 ring gear here somewhere

We have approx 500 176 tooth ring gears in stock for the Olds .... And I always keep a fair amount of 145 tooth as well....
And as FJ says we make new flywheels as well.....
