Warning! Avoid this Phoenix Custom Paint Shop

  1. Wow that sucks big time. You for sure got the short end of the mixing stick there. I will say at this point you will have to start all over from scratch due to not knowing what is under that paint. Any good body and paint man will tell you the same thing. I know Matt from Deluxe customs has been mentioned a few time here and I will tell you right now Matt will not touch that car unless he can strip it down to bare metal and start all over. That will easily be over 15000.00 so I do not think Matt is your man. You might try Precison Auto body at 803 E curry rd 480-970-9988 and ask for Zac or Scott. Scott is the owner there and maybe he can try and fix what you have now but I bet he will tell you the same thing in stripping the car and starting all over.

Maybe the shop did hack jobs. You can't compare without pictures. Some people are dreamers, they want the best job for the least amount of money. The Firebird in that news clip didn't need only minor work. The squeaky wheel gets the grease and the news channel gets the ratings. $2500 is not much money for a paint job these days. The car looks strait but the color is mismatched. The cheapest paint job where I live is $1500. That is only scuffing it up and the shop using AE. You don't get any polishing, how they spray it is what you get. The owners must not complain too much because they do a lot of them. I guess it's better than sunburned old paint. Body shop jail is old news, some people don't have the money to have all the work done at the same time. Some owners just give up on old car projects because they are in over their heads and the next owner is someone from craigslist or a friend.

Go to small claims. Get your money back. And then go to one day paint and body. Spend $1000 on a decent "driver" quality paint job and use the other $1500 for the car or a vacation to forget about all this

Pikesan did you get any resolution in your case??? Pretty old thread, it looks like this guy got away with it for quite a while. Glad he's off the street, however.

I feel for ya, I got the same deal on an OT pickup at maaco in Chandler. Runs every where and it wasn't even sanded prior to paint. I would have been better off letting the neighborhood kids finger paint it!

i will admit it does look bad, but a bell should have went off when he quoted 1800.00 bucks for a whole car. paint guy in my town quoted me 1500 for just the trunk and some matching where i took off my chrome. he then machined out the whole paint job and detailed, it looked great. you do get what you pay for.
