They are, and are forecast to stay above about 13 or so. The Christmas storm was much worse, by a long shot.

Didn't really get bad as I thought it would yesterday, not at my house anyway. Some ice on the trees / powerlines but not enough to cause outages.

Now that the storm supposedly passed through, we're getting some mist and drizzle freezing into a coating of ice on everything. Weather channel calls it "frizzle". Okay. Time to throw burgers on the grille and stay home.

  3. Just when things seemed over with ......
Left Memphis around 9 a.m. yesterday & headed west
    on I-40 :)

Clear skies - 40 plus degree weather - then WTF

Two tractor trailer rigs COLLIDE right in front of me!
Tanker truck tried passing in the high speed lane & hit
ICE - lost control & ripped open the curb side of his
tanker truck on the rear left of the trailer box of the other
    trailer ....

TDOT was plowing with graders - not plows - and left
piles of snow in the rumble strips adjacent to the
    high speed lane .....

The snow melted & froze overnight creating ICE PATCHES
still on the road the next morning at 9 a.m.

I-40 is banked from the left to the right so the drainage
puddled into the high speed lane ....

Immediately ahead of this accident another state trooper
blocked the high speed lane with his car ....
