Warning For the Young Racer Wannabe's !

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by JohnnyFast, May 4, 2006.

  1. Here's an example of what happens to a guy after 35 years of dragsters, sprint cars, demon rum, and loose women. The B&W shot is 1964....the other one from 1999.

    You've been warned !!!!

  18. Life takes some interesting twists and turns for sure. Back in '62 I came within an hour or two of proposing marriage to a young woman I had gone with for years. We broke up that same evening. I sold her engagement ring to buy trinkets like Hilborns, magneto, tires, etc.

That's probably the only regret I've ever had. It has been a good, tough life.

My question is.....what do I do with the next 20 years ? :)

Im nobody to be handing out advice, but Im going to anyway! Looks to me like you have done some very cool stuff, many of us here, only dream of, like drive,a rail dragster and a front engine one at that. Not exactly the safest thing to do, but one hell of a thrill for sure,I would think? And your still, here,so that tells me you were either a pretty fair driver or just damn, lucky.
As for regrets we all got em, and you know what, I quit thinking about that kinda stuff, its over and done, probably couldnt change em, if you tried. Im 52 and I try to live everyday, knowing that yes, there will be some bad come of it, but there is still a lot of good to be had. What helps me the most, is helping others when the opportunity arises, and making sure I do at least one thing everyday, just for myself, that brings a smile to my face.
Im sure with your past, you could help out a lot of us here, theres no subs***ute for expierience. My advice for your next 20 years, is keep busy doing stuff, you enjoy, and hang out with old friends and dont be afraid to make some new ones!

P*** it on, one of my favorite things about the HAMB is when the "old timers" reminisce about the good ol days.

  23. Kool pic's ............well Johnny always keep this little saying in your mine as we all go from new to vintage......." you are blessed with the look of youth and gifted with the wisdom of knowing which lane was the quickest!! :)"

Johnny Fast is young and good lookin. and he has a dragster!

seriously, though. ten toes and ten fingers? if yes, you are well ahead of the curve.
if not, well i'm sorry.but in my opinion, it beats the hell out of video games and wondering if some chowderhead is gonna shoot up the school after recess.

and we wonder what is wrong with the next generation. in a nutshell,I think it is a lack of nitromethane, alcohol(whichever type) and non silicone impregnated ****s.

    shazam,Johnny-- You're a role model! who'd a thunk it,right?

  25. HR....the body was 'gl*** by Kellison. We put the rest together. The car was sold two years ago.....to a creep with no respect for anything beyond the almighty dollar. :(

I don't think it was the rum or the women...I think it was Duluth!

Hell...if you're still above ground, you're doing okay, right?
