Got a pic of reast of the car?I see whats under the hood.....yours?

No dyno vid yet...we've been tuning on this thing old school.....only gauges this cars got is oil preasure and a boost gauge......just readin plugs the old way...magnafier and a light....fuzz one a little...we better put some fuel in it..:D

Best clean 1/4 mile run this year has been 7.19 and we've run 195mph

    Made some tune-up changes and have run 4.50's on the 1/8 1.04 60'..... 2.95 330's...leaving off idle......

Putting new set of slicks on for this wk as the cars been wandering around to much on top end and I havent been able to run it out the back door....got about 70 runs on current slicks

Tony, I'm definitely going to get with you later on a milder version for my 39 Olds coupe gasser. I need to get the chassis done and sorted out with a mild BBC before we build something good. I love what you've done with your car.

It's been a different learning curve being that I come from a circle track world......But its also been a great ride so far........we are creeping our way towards the elusive 6.99@200 number I'm seeking.

Have put 38 runs on it in these last 2 months and only have adjusted the valves once

    Went

    1.017 60ft
    2.900 @ the 330 mark
    4.494 @ the 1/8
    5.89 @ 1000
    7.11 @ 1/4

    This past sat night locally.....

Got one more race coming in MD in couple wks.......I'll donate to the piston gods if I have to!

What was the MPH? I have to say that 38 runs with one valve adjustment is a testament to the initial build and how over built it is. 6.99 should be relatively easy. How does the ride itself feel?

I've gone 195 with it......was having some issues with it walking around on the top end..... Went to a slick with a stiffer sidewall...... This past sat I made 4 runs in a row straight as an arrow....7.13 and a 7.11 being the best 2......these tires are a bit shorter and my mph seemed off a little .... But the 60 ft was better.

I'll know more at next event....while the track crew and racing surface locally are awsome.....the shutdown area is a rough ride from finish line on in my car, being it flexes so much.Makes for running it out the backdoor a little tough.

Yes motor is built solid.....right now we are asking a lot from a cylinder head that we designed to be a street/performance replacement part....... Not an all out race piece.

That being said..we will do it with this combo...

Remember you could take the heads off my race motor, and bolt them directly onto your1956/57 324/371 Olds engine and use stock rockers/intake/exhaust manifolds If you chose to.

  22. Tony, Love those videos, very impressive , thanks for letting me know about the thread. Wonder how many other Rocket Rail-Jobs are running these days? Feel free to bring it south, when the snow is knee deep and hang out with us in the sunshine state. In fact, make it around Groundhog Day weekend and we will showcase it at our car show. www.groundhoggala.com
Would be great to shatter a few windows in the neighborhood:D

    JT

    p.s.The Doc's '60 Super 88 394 (405) is running like a champ, thanks for ALL the help.

Getting quicker as we learn.....Had a blast this past wk end at MIR....changed gear trying to get some MPH back....picked up the ET..not as much MPH as we hoped...Stiffer/shorter sidewall tires not growing as much as previous set is what Im thinking.

    But we went

    1.05 @ 60ft
    2.891 @ 330
    4.45 @ 1/8th
    153.79 MPH
    5.831 @ 1000
    7.033 @ 1/4 @189.82

We are all over the 6's......so much so I can taste it...:D

Still not to shabby for a 1957 371 Oldsmobile based engine.....
