1 1/2 inch square tube. Because the 302 sits on a one bolt rubber mount in the front I put rubber mounts at the ends of the tranny cross member, they sit on pads welded to the frame.

It might be awhile before I get to that. This is my daily driver and it needs to get on the road for this season.

53 cadillac bezels with a sheetmetal brow. I tried 57 cadillac bezels but they were to wide. This has a similiar look only with a bit more chrome peeking out.

Dick, I'm little late to this thread, just catching up on some reading. Got the 4th Holiday off and too hot to work in the garage.

LOVE the hooded Caddy headlight ring treatment on 53/54 Chevs. I'm surprised it is not as common as the 54 Merc rings that get frenched on everything else. It really flows into the Chevy body line so smoothly.

Really digging the extended quarters/tail light. Can't wait to see them finish worked and ready for paint.

Just curious, what in the hell happened to the harmonic balancer???

That copper screen is for a oil bath air cleaner. I have a couple of old gas station bells that hogrod is carving for covers. That copper will be seen thru slots in the bells.

I put a Chevy balancer on the engine. The car is running but the front carb seems to have half the vacumn draw as the rear. It will run on the rear carb only with my hand sealing the front carb. Dies the other way around. Anyone?

  25. Man I have some accessory bumper ends that would blend killer into that tailight treatment.

First thing that comes to mind is the carb base gasket. I don't know if it would have anything to do with this case, but we had a problem similar to this happen on a 2x2 on a flathead and the problem seemed to be either the fuel pump not pushing enough through the fuel block for the front carb to fill up. Like I said, I don't know if this will help you, but you might try flipping the fuel lines front to back and see it there is a change.

Thanks, I've got these pieces to fill to the bumper. They will give it that full bra look.
