Figured maybe someone on here may be able to help. I bought a 1933 Ford door from a Hamber "Rillecustoms" late last year. Plan was to go get it or what not, but I do not have a p***port or enhanced Wa. state drivers license yet, and need this door pretty soon. Is anyone from Canada coming down to any shows (Puyallup Goodguys next weekend) that could pick it up? Or any guys going up there for one reason or another that can pick it up? I have friends ****tered all over the Seattle area it could be dropped off at, too. I just need to get it across the border.

It is in Langley, BC...just across the border above the Seattle area. I have parts to trade for the help or can pay plain old cash. I do plan on getting a p***port, but that will take months from what I hear, and would like to get this door SOON.

    Thanks y'all, Chris

You could probably walk through our border-crossing without problems.

Give 'er a try....if you get arrested, I'll come bail you out. I swear.

you shouldn't have problems... i brought a coupe from Vancouver, BC into Washington without a p***port. US customs agents asked about the body, i told them it was given to me by a friend, that was it.... i did have a bill of sale of sorts that was never used... just stated that the body was a gift from and given to... address/phone # of seller and his signature.

  5. As of June 1st, 2009, ALL persons entering the US from Canda MUST have a valid p***port.
Just did this 10 or so days ago.

bummer... well, 2nd option is to get a p***port... should have one anyways. if you cant locate anyone to get your door to the boarder.

go to your local post office....either they will do it or will refer you to one that will. pay the expedite fee, which isnt overly expensive, and the p***port will arrive in 3 weeks..... it worked for me.

Thanks for the thoughts on the p***port. I may go that direction if all else fails, but the door is still 350 miles from me, so if someone was going through and could pick it up and deliver it somewere in the Washington state I would GREATLY appriciate it!
    Thanks

  8. Damn Chris yer a lil late! Had our big hot rod weekender last weekend (The Invasion) at my place and three of my clubmates were here from Cranbrook just north of you, coulda had one of em get it there and they're always going to Spokane too!
I'll make some calls for you, got some good friends heading to Puyallup we'll see if they can get it to you.
If not I'm headed out to just north of you later in the summer if that'll work. We'll get it close to you some way or another.

Thanks Steve, if it's not to bad to ship I'll just got that route unless someone steps forward to do the deed pretty soon. I'll give you a call about it, and of course I can pay you to pack the door up and ship it for me.
    Thanks!

Washington state has an Enhanced drivers license available to residents (for a fee) that serves as the correct id to get in and out of Canada.
The fee isn't that bad but the wait at some places is a pain in the ****.

Plus for Chris it is close to a 500 mile round trip or a serious side trip when going to to the Goodguys event.

Maybe a Hamb relay is due. There should be guys running back and forth between Langley and Bellingham on a regular basis doing normal business.

Mr48chev- you are right, it's a long trip regardles sif I can get into Canada or not. I should have a p***port, and plan to get one soon but thats neither here nor there right now. Hamb Relay is great, don't really matter were it ends up as long as it's in the state.
    Thanks ya'll!

Your a week late on this request Chris. I was down last week for the V8 swap meet and tried to catch up with you while hanging out with Tim Heinz at his booth. I would have delivered it to your house.
That said I will see if any one I know is heading south in the next few weeks.

  18. Chris,

I have a special lady friend, who I drive to see from time to time, and she lives about 70 miles south of the border. Only catch is the door would need to fit in a Ford ******. If your plans fall through I could probably help you out.

Thanks everyone, but I think I have it worked out as of now. If it falls through I will PM the guys who said they could help me out and see what happens.
Thanks all for the offers to help :D

Oh and Billy Payne, I love you ;)

Chris...I can help too if something falls through. My work territory goes up to the border, and I would be more than happy to pick it up at the border for you if Rillecustoms would meet me at the border crossing. I have a p***port too, so that's no issue.

Oh, I won't be a t Goodguys, but will be at AMOCAT that weekend...

Let me know if I can help.
