The only '81 Minivan I know of is a VW Vanagon, and they are a collectible vehicle and in mint condition can fetch a hefty price. Anything could be considered collectible in someones eyes. I think the law should just stipulate that the owner must have a daily driver that is also registered in the state to qualify for the collector plates. My Pickup is 30 years old, gets driven less than 2000 miles a year and is insured as a collector vehicle, it will also be getting registered this year as collector vehicle with the older Green on White plates.

I'm totally amazed at the number of "oh what the hell, it's only $30 - I'll pay it" posts. I mean really, don't you all realize this is a tax increase? And that it affects all of our hot rods and restored vehicles?
And why don't you understand that there was once was a time when a '69 Hemi Super Bee (or even a VW Beetle) wasn't considered collector car? Just what in the hell is wrong with you?
Shut this thing down, and now. My emails are sent also.

It doesn't seem to affect year of manufacture plates. Or am I wrong?
