I wonder If the reason so many parts are going away is of All Brands have moved to Ls ,Coyotes ,Mopar new gen engines
    John Drakulic Was Zipp's
I talked to John maybe 10 years ago , I believe then in late 70s 80ish
John was still active @ that time in pouring / casting & will to make
Custom parts @ Johns location .
    412 Area code Pa ?
I have a few Zipp's Even on a Vortec sbc
Its been some time , Back in 80s I seen
Cast iron ones on Tall deck 366/427 bbc
& sbc , I believe they had Gm part #s
    Cast iron ones ?

I know I'll get some ****, but if you raise the engine where it should be, you won't need the riser....

bare metal 29 005.JPG new motor in coupe 002.JPG MR 800 for sale 012.JPG Hey Johnny Gee; Both your 56 and 57 Chevys had v8s with the fan centered in the radiator and no need for a Zipp's water pump riser.. Why people are mounting the engines so low just makes me wonder.. no disrespect to anyone that does, it just makes me wonder.. In all my model A builds on super thin sidewall model A frames, I had no problem using a regular water pump and a small hump in the floor..**clic pic

Are Tri Fives built like early Fords from the factory?

Yeah- big feet & big trans tunnels due to high mounted engines takes measuring & planning.

Glad you were able to find a riser.

    ^^^^^^
Notice that few days ago , Small Fan & low .

Thats why I posted Big Feet .

I think the reason some get away with because where there temp gauge is ,
Close to Stock engine & it's in a cooler spot Just like what @Wanderlust
Posted on another thread , had that book around 1986 ish in my teens .
Other spots temps can be 300 plus ,
Now what I do not Quite understand when temps get that hot , was Smokey
Experimenting with like 30 or so psi cap & antifreeze ? Witch raises boiling point,
Water starts to boil @ 215 deg .
    Maybe @ALLDONE can answer,
I am just pulling some memories without actually refreshing exact numbers / theory .

The Riser , Seem to be no longer made
Since the thread started I was going to get another one just to have , when I purchased the last one I think it was less than $200,, Just in last week I was asked if I had one 4 sale , The persons said could not find instock , my self I have not talked direct , just looking on line seeing out of stock .

Like @s**** metal 48 , I Also I can say I had one of those cheap ( mine was)
Aluminum $130 rads with No heating issues , with Zip ,
I prefer no electric fan, my 2 engine's different cid
both in 650 plus range ,
    One Close to 12.1
    Other 10.3

    Also Just wondering and thinking
On Book cover of Engine has heads taped
But has Rad hose @ intake
If cooling on race engine better /needed
    @ heads end .
I wonder if there is a divider in thermostat pocket .

ALLDONE, in your Thread above in your 2nd paragraph you stated what I've been saying; ENGINE IS SET TO LOW... All I've been trying to say is that!! If more thought was put into engine mounting maybe a zip's riser wouldn't be necessary.. I also read at all the modification that needed to be done to get the riser to work... It's all hot rodding..

pic of tunnel on inside ,
Coupe , roadster ,truck or sedan,
    Engine are higher then most,
    Stock engine by carbs ,
No issues with Zip installation only on a Vortec block 1/16 to 1/8 to clear timing cover @ top @ angle

There are many that are running hotter then they know because most install temp up near thermostat cooler then temps in near back

    @s**** metal 48 ,
I don not Know why by pics why there seem not to be that much of hump in floor ,I have not done a 28-29
    only
30-32, the As should be same @ tunnel.
My Feet are big close to 6 inch wide with out shoe,
Also thinking I have not ran a stockish
SBC , all mine have been siamese cylinders ,& I pull / get temps between
    6-8 & 5-7 witch is hotter Area by 20-30 deg then @ thermostat , cid 406 -434 sb
witch most are not using in A's 32.
I know there is different for hotter temps, & @ thermostat cooler than rear of engine .
So stockish engines might not need the Zip until up near 400 hp plus ,
Unless carb to lean , wrong timing ,
Wrong pulley ratio, to small of Rad , Fan
    Ext .
    Maybe more information then Most
    Rodders need / know ,
Cooling on GM first Gen sb , Bb has been issue from beginning,
    Unbalance cooling across cylinders,
The SB2 Solve these issues ,

we never used to use zips before they came out.. and then only on ones that needed...my woody has a 462 hp motor... liked to run hot setting at a light... but once it started getting hot it like to stay there... so needed more fan...in utah... it barely gets hot enough to open the stat..
