I have a set of gauges that were made by TPI Tech. The water temp sender is bad. The gauge starts to read around 400 ohms, and it reads about 180 degrees at 90 ohms or so. I need a sender that is about 400 ohm Cold,- 40 ohm hot range and a 1/8 NPT. I have spent a boat load of time looking around for one that will work. Does anybody know of a replacement part number? I found that a Autometer 2235 is close, and I could add a resistor across it to get it to read close, but I would really like to find a direct replacement for the original.

They are no longer in business.......

  4. Are there any numbers on the sender? Most companies just use off the shelf senders so maybe if you take it to the auto parts they can decipher the numbers on it. Or maybe we can.

It looks like 5C2S is stamped into the side of it, but it's really hard to read. It might be 6C2S or maybe a 5 at the end. I tried googleing all the above and can't find anything
