Super weather and a super place to meet. Hard to find a place as nice as Waxahachie for a rod show. Lot of nice cars. Heres a few pics for my friends on the HAMB.
Didn't really have time to stick around till 4. Sorry I didnt' get to meet ya. I did get to meet Zumo.
I couldn't hang around today either. My daughter is here from Ohio visiting for the weekend so I had to get back to town. Zumo had an audience when I was there. Waited around for like 10 minutes to talk to him while he talked to some chainer and his wife who kept pointing and giggling at stuff on the car. When I got back over there later he was gone.
Is this show still sponsored by the Dallas Area Street Rods? I was a member of that group back in the early and mid 70's. Still see some of the older members from time to time.
Yeah Dallas Area Street Rods sponsored it along with the "Shakers and Scrapers" out of Corsicana Texas. Great bunch of folks. The last time I had my stingray down there at Getzendaner park was in I think 03'.
I wished i would have tried that show...Hell i didnt even make the Sasche show today. Hell atleast in Waxie i could have seen some rides i haven't seen before

The entire park is full of enormous oak and pecan trees. Hard not to find a shady spot. If theres one problem with the show its getting the word out. It usually is only publicized locally or to a few clubs and conflicts with other events like the Sacshe show. October is rodding weather down here in Tx. We'll see you guys here next October.
Sorry I missed you. THat gold chainer you speak of must have been my son's soccer coach. It was a really a busy day for me. I had other folks I told to go out there and I was running around talking to a lot of them. This car that was right next to Dad's Vette was the best car of the show, I thought. Brad here on the board talked to him more that I did so I did n't get a chance to get his name. He did say that this show was the debut for his car. Seemed like a real good guy. He was an older gentleman and I assume this was not his 1st Hot Rod. It looked like everything a Hot Rod should be. I was blown away. I was in love with this car.
No problem Zumo. That black 5 window was a very nice car. I didn't think the radials detracted from the overall quality of the car at all. I bet it drives awesome. I do think the scoops on the carbs should be pointed aft though. He will too if he sucks down one of those B-52 bugs we have here in Tx.
The headlamps on that Model A coupe are either Guides or the other maker of universal truck headlamps, B-L-?. Ford headlamps never had the parking lamp on top. 40-41 1ton and 40-47 COE trucks used a similar light with sealed beams.
