I was surfing the web looking for old style shifter knobs and came across this really cool website from The 1954 Design Company. I am not affiliated with them in any way but thought their stuff is definitely HAMBworthy. Does anyone know anything more about them - maybe they're a HAMBer already? I just "borrowed" one image to give you an idea. For more killer shifter knobs click on the link....

Very cool! Maybe a little pricey though.

Thanks for your post Weasel and the kind words.

My knobs made their debut here on the HAMB about a year and a half ago. It is because of the positive response I received from fellow HAMBers that prompted me to design the website and sell a few. Each knob is designed and hand made by me. I make every effort to make them as affordable as possible and frankly, I don't think they're pricey considering the fact that each one is unique and hand made and not pumped out of a machine in China. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=548426

Great stuff Saxman - really nice to see something different and looks to be killer craftsmanship. Best of all you're on the HAMB and an Alliance member - it doesn't get any better than that....

Very cool Saxman. So reading the other thread, what is the cost difference for a new design? It would be pretty bitchin to have my V8th Air Force logo on a shift knob!

i really like those and the price seems fair to me, especially since they are hand made.

I thought those looked familiar! They're beautiful!!

Pricey???? For $60??? Where can you get an American hand-made functional piece of art for $60?? I thing it's a deal myself. I'd be all over them if I didn't have an auto on the column in my 53.

Seriously, thanks guys. You're making me feel pretty good.

Django -you're not a 3 fingered, guitar playing gypsy are you?:D Send me a PM or email. I'd like to take a look at your V8th AF logo and see whether it would work in this medium. We can discuss further.

No, but I suppose when I do play guitar my pinky only works on special occasions. Is that close enough? :D pm sent.

Basically what I been thinking myself.

If I remember they weren't pricey for what they were, and I was on that website not long ago drooling over em.

Just don't have a car that could use one right now or I'd own one.

As a customer, I can tell you the quality is outstanding. If you purchased one of the knobs in an antique store you would be jumping up and down celebrating you major score. Saxman, any info in the Grant Life 200mph member knob?

Man, I think those are nice. I particularly like the shape, don't really care for round knobs myself on a vintage car. Price looks fair to me, rather give $60 for a piece of art then the $30 something I had to pay for a standard white knob for the Hurst shifter in my Ranchero.
