Seems to be a genuine interest in these cars. You guys are great ambasadors! Next, it will be autographs, which could interfere with between-round rebuilds.:D

Well this thread caused me to drop everything and make a 28mile round trip to Wally World and buy Hot Rod Deluxe. I immeditately ran up to my wife's work to show her. In more than 50 years of messing with cars this is the first time a car of mine made it in print. My main goal in sending it to the magazine was to promote the HAMB style dragsters. Like I told them this is really fun. :DRoy

    Roy,

After lots of years building cars I got a dune buggy in Hot VW's magazine and I'm not ashamed to admit I have the 3 page article framed and on the wall in my garage.

I'm sure most of the guys here would do the same thing.

It was about 3 months. I sent it in and when the next issue came out it was not in it. I thought well they didn't want to print it. That was the reason it was a total suprise when you started this thread. If we can just keep beating the drum we can make it grow.:D Roy

10/4 ON BEATING THE DRUM. MY THINKING IS THAT AT THE NITRO NATIONALS IN JULY A 2 DAY EVENT WE COULD TAKE A GROUP PICTURE. WE SHOULD HAVE AT LEAST 8 CARS . HORNETS DON ALEXANDER JOE HAMBY TODD MARTIN ROY MERITT 2B BOB HUBERTY COWBOY BOB, RON GOLDEN . I HOPE ALL THESE TEAMS WOULD SHOW UP.
MAYBE WE COULD ALL WEAR WHITE PAINTER PANTS AND TEE SHIRTS FOR A 50s LOOK.DONT KNOW WHAT WE COULD ABOUT OUR BALD HEADS ,DUCK TAIL WIGS!!! JUST THOUGHT. WE ARE GOING TRY TO HAVE OUR CAR RUNNING BY THEN PROVIDED WE DONT HAVE ANOTHER DIASTER.ANYBODY HAVE ANY MORE IDEAS JUMP IN FEET FIRST LJ

That kind transportation is for the high rollers. We tested a blown hemi Ford engine on the dyno last week. They had a rig like you describe and I asked them what they had in the engine, $70,000:eek:. Of course it put out 2600HP but that is what it costs to race in the big leagues. It makes our kind of racing look better and better.:D Roy
