I just rebuilt a wcfb 2191s 4 bl carb with a new kit. took it all apart cleaned it blew it out a reassembled with the kits parts supplied. when I started it it ran fine on high idle but when I kick it down off high idle it died like it had too much fuel ... I could see it coming out of the boosters. at idle. noticed the needle and seat were a little different that came with the rebuild kit could that be it ? another thing I noticed in the kit supplied ... these little clips that attach to the drift pin that hold the floats on. my carb did not have them on so I left the new off that were supplied. should these clips be applied? maybe that could be a problem and I set the float drop to specs with the top gasket intacked . maybe tooooo high yet . any help would be greatly appreciated!
Did you check the floats in hot water? Sounds like they are sinking.... (anti-rattle clips) to keep the float centered, pull the top to see if the pin came out.
I GOT it fixed !
well....... I went back thru and checked everything again.. took the top gasket off to measure the floats correctly . noticed the needles and seats were not exactly the same as old ones see pic. but that is just an adjustment made with the float levels to correct that to new needle and seat another issue was some one reemed out a section in front of the primaries for some reason and there was not enough metal areas for the gasket to not seal so that is where the vac leak came from. fixed that issue . I installed the carb and and worked fine . very responsive carb.
