   I want to run an early Corvette single-quad aircleaner on a late 4bbl. I see these are readily available:
   
   
   

   They're intended to go from the small carb to the big air cleaner, I think. Can you flip them over to go the other way?

   I'm sure that there are different designs of these adapters, but the ones I've seen would not work if you tried to flip them over.
