This is one stand-alone rear in my opinion, though I'm not terribly into the tall/skinny tire deal, this one is pretty special.
Most around here know why, anyone brave enough to ask why it's so special.

Since no one else took the bait, I'll ask:

What is so special about this one?

  15. In honor of Saint Patrick's day, how about a green rear end. :DHRP

No, really, come on, you must be baiting ME!:D
Sure, most everyone knows of this cars' provenance/owner/history, etc.
Hint, look real close at the trunk lid.

Of course I recognize it now. But to be honest, I'm not a student of historic hot rods. What is special about the trunk lid?

    Hello,

We have seen plenty of trucks in our coastal cruises. There isn’t a city around that does not have a bevy of cool old trucks for daily drivers or in this case, for sale. We were checking out the swell direction coming into the early fall season and as it moved toward the beaches, we saw several trucks located at different locations in a nice So Cal coastal city.

One was turquoise and white that was also for sale and after a couple of months, in its place was a nice camper van. But, this one looks quite nicely done, too. So, it should have sold sooner. Now, it has been sitting in almost the same parking spot in an industrial area with a nice hand drawn for sale sign in the window.

The old truck is nicely done and as my wife said when we passed it on our direction, “nice rear sight.”

She has seen the old truck parked in the same location for months. And now, it still stands out, but it seems like everyone that passes by accepts is as a permanent parking location.

When the local businesses are closed for the weekend and we happen to drive by, it is missing. The old Ford truck makes the street look empty. Where is that nice rear end? YRMV

Drove out to Nelson and attended a downtown car show.
    Great location.
Had some trouble with my mag wheels so borrowed the red steelies with wide white walls off my ‘roadster project’ for the trip.
