So Me and Fedsled towed home the chrysler today. At first it wouldnt start so pulled the dizzy cap to look at the points. The gap was at least 0.40 so I eyeballed them to a precise half that.Pulled the #1 plug to check for spark and yelled turn it over!Jr reached through the window hit the key and THE ****ER STARTED!!!! Scared Me at first stood up banged my head on the hood and started laughing.Shut it off put the plug back in then restarted it. Now gas is leakin out the top of the carb like crazy so shut it off.Took the top of the carb off pulled out the float it was half full of water (condensation) I suspect.Drilled a hole in it,drained it then soldered it shut. Reinstalled the float and cleaned the **** out from the bottom of the bowl.Cleaned the gasket surfaces put some aviation gasket sealer on both sides of the old gasket and screwed it back together.Added a quart of ****** fluid to the oil and fired it up again.Seems to run real good but clatters at idle and worse at higher RPMs.Set up the idle and let it run for a few hrs didnt overheat and has 60 lbs oil pressure. The longer it ran the quieter it got. While it was running we washed it all up perty and cleaned the inside. The brakes were on the floor added some brake fluid and three pumps they were up! So ofco**** with no tabs We took it for a spin. What a riot this thing is COOOOL! The heater defroster lights turnsignals dashlights EVERYTHING seems to work! GODDAMMIT thats how its supposed to be!! I wish this luck on every HAMBER. Ill take it out for another spin tomorrow and post some pics--Feder
Try setting the points closer to .016 and see what happens. I saw the pics when you first posted. Really nice prize. Jim
