Technical We have dashboard lights... 1960 Biscayne

    You beat me to it B.A.KING my next question was if he could see paradise by the dash board lights.;)

    The reason it did not blow right away is because it would not blow until the lights were turned on. With the lights off it is a ground thru the bulbs. If you were to hook an ohm meter to the wire you would think it was a ground unless you turned the lights on, I have seen it happen many times to people that thought they knew what they were doing.

    See.. told ya it was the switch... glad you got it resolved. I tend to throw out old switches at the first sign of trouble just to rule them out.

    wasn't the switch, it was the new radio ground to the grey wire for illumination of the old AM radio... I put the old switch back in since there was nothing wrong.. Thank you again guys !

    Did you check the dim bulb behind the steering wheel. That's my first guess. ha! Miss ya pal!
