Is the one in post #2010 a '59 Chevy with a Buick front clip? Pretty cool!

  16. The two hole grille would be for the Fordson and they were the larger commercial. JW

I think 34 GAZ's van is the same physical size as the Lynas Ford van, which would have had a two hole grille. The one hole grille would be interchangeable with the two hole and three hole grilles. slwa_b2280788_1.jpg (Lynas Ford photo is from State Library of Western Australia, 234308PD; slwa_b2280788_1)

  18. Are you talking Grille bar sections or crank holes? JW

In 1937 Ford UK/Oz etc introduced two new models in their small car range, the "Ten" and the "Eight" (also called 7W and 7Y respectively). The "Ten" grille had three holes (or slots) and the "Eight" grille was just like the van posted by 34 GAZ with one (big) hole. Later on, there was the two-hole grille which the Lynas Ford van would have had, and like the thousands of Anglias had. I am pretty sure that these three grilles would be interchangeable, along with the bonnets and the front mudguards.

The three-hole grille seems to bring big $$$ in the US. Anglia Obsolete (US) has been advertising one for a while now for $1,400.00 and it needs a little bit of work.

  20. I think the term ''opening'' would be a better description than ''hole'' and yes they do interchange.
    Anyhow , moving on. JW

Now I realise that you were referring to the E83W; their grilles had two crank handle holes, to suit both LHD and RHD versions.

Canterbury - Bankstown Ambulances (Sydney, NSW) photos by Ray Olson for Pix magazine, 11 March 1940 - State Library of New South Wales. What make/s are they? The first one appears to be a custom build - it's probably the body-builder's plate behind the driver's door, just above the running board and it looks like there's another similar vehicle to the rear of this one. 28. The pic of the Nash above intrigued me so I went a-googlin. Marketed as a s-d, so I'm assuming no rear seats??
