We Need A New Forum

Let's call it the Lame-assed Forum. Then we could put all these posts about "what's this worth?", "what color do I paint it", "what do I do, now that I got it", "should I paint these mags red so I will blend in" and any and all other bullshit posts that qualify.
"What can I do?", is different from "What should I do?" If you bought the car, used your own money, why in Hell would you want somebody telling you what you can do/to it?
"What can I do?" at least shows you have been giving your project some thought, and want to learn from others mistakes.
If you really need someone elses opinion on how YOU should do YOUR Car, maybe you should consider getting another hobby. Masturbation might be a good one, because, while it does make you feel good, nobody wants to watch, or will have an opinion on it.
Bottom line is... ASK for HELP.
Asking for opinions is just jacking off.

Alot of funny shit comes from threads like those. I like em. I miss the fact we cant make comments on the ads anymore. There was a ton of very funny stuff there...but I have to admit they are more effective now that the b.s. is gone.

 

I hope im not out of line to suggest this but can the hamb be further sub divided into categories. in a attempt to slow down the rate that good On topic post get lost. the idea that O/T post are bumping off post by Ryan, Kevin, Bruce Lancaster, Cole and others is a painful thought. Maybe a active how to (Tec) section, most importantly a O/T section so that worthless post don’t damage the quality of the Hamb. And bump good post off the board. Maybe even a invitation only “star chamber” of writers that set the tone of the Hamb.

I don't know, but i've seen some great ideas exchanged here after someone's proposed the question. Seemed more informative than lame to me. Sometimes a combination of opinions ends up with good results.

Anyone who has issues with whats on the first few pages can feeel free to post a tech thread or any other "interesting" thread that you might see fit. Quit bitching about it and do something useful for the board.

 

Your profile says you "Don't,won't ask for help or opinions. If I can't figure something out I'll pay somebody to do it." Not everyone is financially capable of having lots of things done for them, or can afford to do things wrong over and over again. I wasn't around in the 50's so I might have a question about colors for customs back then. What's the problem with tapping the boundless creativity on this site?

 

this forum, just like everything else we have in our life(tv, radio, cable, etc.) is fine for everyone here, that is why we are here.....now for those of you who cannot stand a mis-spoken word, mis-typed letter, question asked like it was a statement etc. guess what....you can just go to another forum or thread...just like changing a channel or turning the volume down....hell better yet if you do not like it don't view it.... just be positive and help those or reply to those that better suit your liking.

 

I disagree with some of you.

Someone that is not as omnipotent as some of you might not know the value of something they are looking to buy. Or not know the hidden dangers of the thing they are buying. The 32 Chevy post recently is a good example.

It is like your own kid coming in to ask you a question. Are you going to say he's wasting your time, or are you going to try to help?
I feel if I have the experience and knowledge to help someone in a buying situation, I will give my advice.

The guys that ask so they can flick it on Ebay, well, just put it on Ebay and you'll see. (as previously stated)

The guys that ask if they should do their car in a certain way so it pleases everyone else should not ask those questions.
Grow a sack and just do it. If you are so desperate to be accepted by others, then you have much larger issues than your car.

i feel as though this is somewhat directed at me.. because i have a "whats it worth" thread going. so i will adress this the best i can. not only is this a place for tech info, old car history, etc. its a place to get some advice from FRIENDS!! being in the situation im in i needed some. so if you dont like these threads DONT READ THEM! I for one think im entitled to start athread like that on accasion after the hundred of hours ive spent on here contributing and helping people with there cars. or the hundred hours ive spent on the phone with people on here helping them thru a roof chop for free even though thats what i do for a living.. this is a fuckin waste!!
