We are thinking maybe a run on Saturday and then a show somewhere on Sunday ? That would make it a cool weekend. Just one of the ideas being kicked around right now.

You want a run and a nice size bar/parking lot here is one that I had started looking into when we were doing the Sinners Prescott run..leave east valley out to payson, pine, strawberry and into camp verde then hitting i 17 down into phoenix. 241 miles..that is my little bike trip i take on the harley during summer to get out of town for the day... maybe have an even and book the rooms in the area or just camp out...

    Heres their link.

Well......What does everyone think of BilletProof Arizona ? Alan has expressed some interest in bringing his show to the valley for us. Nick has spoken with him and it seems like this could be a REAL possibility. We still need to get together with our meeting and shoot some stuff around about locations and other stuff, but it seems like it could be a cool thing.

  6. BilletProof would get you leaps and bounds ahead on a show with history and backing to show what is accepted and what is not. DesertDroog talked to me about this post and you all need to know that it takes years of putting on the same show to get it recognized as a good show with good quality. The greasball that I did took 6 years to get it where it was with quality of cars. That show was focused on the cars with music and vendors as secondary and was at a good bar that has good parking with lots of shade and good access for inside and out entry of people. This show should be once year and should happen in the fall since trying to put something together on short notice before the heat comes. By taking the time to plan it all out and good advertising you could have killer show in the fall. Remember that doing the show on you own will take years to build it up with history for a good reputation. BilletProof will get you there alot faster.

We are thinking a fall show and of course the cars come first. Bands, Vendors and other stuff takes a backseat to the cars. But cool to have that stuff as well.....Certainly do not have time to do a show before summer. That much is a given, so we are aiming now toward October possibly.

October next year would be awesome.. if you want to pull people from out of state I would shoot for next year as short time planning tends to backfire..

    Billetproof Arizona.

Has a nice ring to it :D

We are talking it over, some details to be worked out, some meetings to be had, some scouting missions to be undertaken... but it looks like a good possibility.

is it too early to start carving the word "Billetproof" into a jack-o-lantern?

Yes it does have a good ring to it. Plus, with the success of Billetproof in other areas, hopefully this could turn into a good annual show for us. GGuys is fun but imagine a field full of traditional. Sounds good to me.....

  12. Yip, Falcon Field, the B 17 is usually here for a couple of months at the the CAF hanger. It usually flys right over the top of my house/garage at about a 1,000 feet AGL when its on a left downwind for SW landing. Tough not to recoginize the sound of those four BIG round power engines, I remember that sound when I was a kid in the early forties
I'm in for whatever is put together for a show/run. Dave

  13. Agreed. The cool thing is that a big show may generate the enthusiasm to start smaller cruise-ins and such throughout the rest of the year.

Alright guys, I spoke with the folks down at the Burton Barr Library in Downtown Phoenix this afternoon and they have a Conference room available on May 8th. The upsides are that its only going to cost $20 for a two hour rental and the room will hold more then 20 people. The downside is that the room is not available until 2:30 that afternoon. They are holding the reservation for us without deposit for 48 hours, but as long as no one objects, I'll go ahead and get it booked.

When I spoke with the lady at the library today she said the only time slot available for Sat. the 8th is from 2:30-4:30. I figured 2 hours was better then one...

  22. Wow...what a great idea..Billetproof AZ. I have been away for a while (trying to get my truck done). I am pissed I have to leave the state to attend good nostalgic shows. We need a good show here in AZ. I am glad to hear the ideas of having one here. Count me in.

Do keep in mind fellas that we've moved the meeting to 2:30pm on the 8th, NOT at 11am as originally planned. Mark you calendar's!
