Sorry to hear what happened, especially about your cap, that just flat ****s. Definitely get yourself a dog, German Shephard is the best for loyalty and intelligence combined with fierce protectiveness:D Then at least you'll have the satisfaction of seeing some blood and part of their jeans next time:D

Damn, twice!! Ballzy...glad no one was harmed...till you find'em.

I was robbed when I was at Hershey this year...got call from the local sheriff when I was on my way home. Sure brought a great week to a screeching halt. I was fortunate that they didn't take much, but they did break a water pipe. So, water was running for 24 - 48 hours and my back door was wide open.

Since, I've added more lights and repaired others, reinforced doors to the play pen, and planted a few claymores:D. House is still a mess, but it'll get fixed. Just waiting on the insurance company now.

Good luck. Lotta bad **** happening these days.

Not a rifle...you need a 45 ACP BIG caliber to knock 'em down so they dont get up,the only drawback is having to clean up the mess later.

  5. Illinois; i.e. Chicago. Guess you've never heard about our Government. Evidently not ALL of our crooks are in public office!

Where's Judge Roy Bean when we need him? Vigilante justice is looking better and better every day. The good cops that actually WANT to do their job are shackled by the legal system. Thanks to groups like the ACLU these low-lifes have RIGHTS. My blood pressure hits triple digits every time I read about **** like this.

Thanks guys. I stayed home for a few days after. Didn't feel like I should leave. Plus, after the second time, they really did a number on the door. I'd make like I had left each day, along with Shoebox Mags, and then sneak back in. Nothing. And with the shop to run, I couldn't stay home for ever. I've been going home randomly to check things, but still nothing. We were only gone 45 minutes the second time. Believe me Scooter, had they come back when I was there for a third round, they wouldn't have made it out. Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6, right?

I agree somewhat with it's someone I know. But I can't figure out who. I have one disgruntled former employee. He sent me an email almost one year to the day after I fired him. And this is around the same time. Hopefully I'm wrong. I'd never want to think about someone like that. But the cops will find out. There have been three other break ins within 1000 yards of the house in the last four weeks. One before us, and one just this last week.

And we do live in a nice area. Break in here and there. About one in the neighborhood every other year in the last 6 years. We didn't think that was too bad. But this is unheard of. Even the cops commented on it being unusual.

I talked to a guy yesterday who was robbed of his lawn service.
    The entire business.
They backed a tow truck into his driveway
Hooked onto his truck which was hooked onto his trailer
which had all his lawnmowers, weedeaters, blowers, etc.
    They stole his entire business.
And that was the end of that!

    Cops are worthless

Got one. Springfield M1911A1 MilSpec. You have to be there to use it though. And Shoebox Mags was asleep on the couch the first time they were in, and just popped in to grab something off the kitchen table the second time.

Yeah. They don't patrol our area hardly at all. I'm guessing that coincides with the lack of crime over the last 6 years. And now there are some s***bag low rent places going up down the street. I need a sign out front that says, "Nothing in this house is worth your life." Also no good unless I'm home though.

Man I'm sorry to hear that ! I hate a thief. Our house was broken into while we where making funeral arrangements for my mother. The wedding band my mom had left to my wife was stolen and my 357 Smith and Wesson pistol, We got our stuff back. it was kids and they bragged and a neighbor kid told us. I hope you get your stuff back !

You weren't "robbed," you were "burglarized."

Robbery is when someone sticks a gun in your face. Burglary is when they steal your stuff when you are not there.

Sorry it happened to you. I've been hit twice in 4 years myself.

i feel your pain, ive been burgled a few times myself (robbed is face to face), and i know just the feeling the others have felt, and yourself

the 2 best remedies i found are a dog, and motion detector camera.

they kick on every time something moves and continue for 30 seconds after the motion stops.

mostly, i'd come home to a few vids of the cat walking down the hall, but one day , there it was , a homeless chick going through the couches for change and cleaning out the fridge.

oddly the cops were not even interested in the vid, took prints and dna.

they said that its not worth it to prosecute for one break in, but they keep a dosier on the perp and after a few break ins they can go for some long stretches.

basically you are on your own........heaven help them if you catch them red handed......beat em once for me

okay this is a good thread for a reply from me,
i own a custom entry door company and install entry doors all the time. first response about outswing doors--NOT A GOOD IDEA-- hinges have to be on the outside and even if they have locking pins a good hammer and pin punch will drive the pins out with a little work not real hard.
second cheaply made doors home depot- and the like mostly use imported soft door jambs-
replace the door AND JAMB with a good solid species door or use a iron or steel door, next when installing the jamb try and not use shims every few feet to square up the door , either have the door made to the rough opening size or use a solid spacer all down the sides, also take the time to make a 1/8 steel plate to sandwich betwee the rough opening and outer side of the jamb big enough to let the dead bolt stick thru- get the extended bolt and use a punch thru resistant dead bolt. although none of this is 100 pct foolproof it makes it harder to get quick access. when you have big gaps between the jamb and rough opening, the smarter thieves use a threaded load binder with two extension welded to it and simply put it at the dead bolt and ratchet it enough to spread the jamb and simply walk in. hope it helps someone

You can do anything you want if they are inside the threshold of your home........ but remember this, by federal standards, a grave is 42 inches wide, 108 inches long, and 48 inches deep(except in flood areas)..... make it blend in with the others.....

I am really sorry to hear this ! Times are bad and people just take the easy way out . Check the Pawn Shops all around your area . They gotta sell it someplace !
Have some cameras installed when nobody can see you doing it and turn on the recorder . more than likely they will come back till there is nothing left .

Now go get a real nasty dog and have the bark removed( sorry but I am a dog lover too ) and don't let anyone know you have one . That way if they come in again the dog will chew the low life , ****ing pieces of **** to living hell till they die from the dog eating their ****ing *** up ! Why waist the courts money and time for worthless low life ****ers ! I really hate hearing this and there will be no end till the people take matters into their own hands . I know it's not right but you have the right to protect yourself and your family ! Just make sure you kill them dead as dead can be , like my granddad always told me , Boy remember a dead man can't testify against you ! Also if you have to drag them all the way into your home !
Sorry to sound so sick & man but this **** has to stop !
Where I live we don't have that problem because everyone knows if you get caught in someones home they will shoot you dead !
